Chambers Roofing Reviews (1)

Revdex.com President [redacted] spoke with [redacted] Chambers on 7/19/2016.  [redacted] Chambers discussed in detail his efforts to resolve the problems outlined by consumer in the complaint. The company owner indicates that he was hired to repair a stone chimney that had several problems, requiring...

flashing changes and repair of damaged mortar at various areas in the chimney.  The company replaced the flashing around the chimney and also repaired damaged mortar and sealed several damaged mortar joints in the chimney.  As agreed, the company also replaced some damaged nails in the "barn style" metal roof on the home.  When the consumer first called to report a continuing leak, the company owner indicates that he personally went to the home and, since there did appear to be some continuing leak in the chimney, he personally inspected the repaired areas and did some additional repair of mortar and additional sealing.  After the consumer reported additional leaks, the company owner indicated that he has made two trips to the home following heavy rains in the area.  The consumer has shown him buckets or bowls on the floor in areas where the consumer indicates that leaks are occurring, but consumer has stated that these containers were emptied before business owner arrived at the home.  With the exception of one bucket that contained water in the area of the chimney when business owner made his initial visit after a leak was reported, business owner has not seen a bucket or bowl that contained any water. The business was hired primarily to repair the damaged chimney.  After additional work was completed following the first report of a leak by consumer, business owner does not feel there is any problem in the chimney area.  Any continuing leaks appear to be in the pre-existing metal roof, which was not installed by business and for which business was paid for only limited work (replacement of damaged nails).  Chambers Roofing will stand behind work performed but cannot be responsible for roof issues that were not covered by the initial contract.  Company believes that all work which the company was hired to complete has been performed professionally and that any additional work needed is beyond the scope of what company was hired to do.  The company indicates that some work beyond the scope of the original contract, such as replacing drip edge, has been done without charge to consumer in an effort to resolve the problems reported by consumer.  Company will continue efforts to satisfy the consumer but cannot replace the metal roof without being paid to do so, because replacement or major repair of the metal roof was not part of the contract originally agreed to and paid for by consumer's bank.
