never felt the bride or her mother were burdening us nor was she treated as a burdenWhen the dress was originally ordered, the bride was a different size than she is todayWe took her measurements, discussed the size with her, and then she agreed to the sizeShe signed the contractIn the meantime, the bride went on a diet and started to lose weight
When the dress came in, it was too bigThe bride was fine with thatHer mother was notI marked the dress for alterations and made another appointment for her to come inAt that time, we always tell our bride's that alterations are not done until dress is paid in fullWe had to call her because she hadn't paid off her dress and alterations cannot begin until the dress is paid for in fullWe were told there was a death in the family and they didn't want to deal with anything right nowWe said okay and asked them to call us later to finish paying off the dressApproximately three weeks later, they came in to try the dress onWe did not begin alterations because the dress was not paid off yetWe used this appointment as a fitting rather than a mark-upThe mother was very rude and kept telling everyone that it's not about the moneyWe are not sure what she meant by that at the time
We made another appointment for her to come back along with her mother, who also bought a dress somewhere elseI altered that dress and her daughter'sThe mother's dress fit and she was ***/ The mother left her dress at the store so that we could steam itThe bride wanted her gown to be taken in moreWhen they came back for the last appointment, the dress fit fine, even though it was a bit tight zipping upThe bride requested that we take it in moreShe said the arm holes needed workI told her I could do whatever she wanted done; however, there would be additional charges because we had not done anything to the armsThe mother was unruly about the costShe said she will not pay for anything and she ran out the back door with her dressShe jumped a rolling rack in the process(The back door is for employees only)I told my manager to call the police because the mother had not paid for her dressEssentially, she stole from the store and attempted to escape
The bride started screaming that she would pay for her mother's dress, which she didEven though the dress did not need to be taken in anymore, I did the final taper without charging the bride for any taperingI do not feel we have done anything wrongWe have gone above and beyond to make her happyI have never been rude or ever raised my voice, which they haveI do not understand why she even left that day, other than the fact that her mother was unrulyI would have gladly done anything thing she wantedThe dress fit her well and she looked very prettySincerely, ***, owner of Champagne & Lace Bridal
