Champion Gutters

Review: I hired Champion Gutters to install gutters on my home in New Orleans. They installed half-round gutters and downspouts as agreed and I paid the total amount due of $1580. In mid-July 2014 I was on a ladder trimming a nearby tree and I noticed the gutter on one side of my house was filled with water. I then climbed up to inspect the gutter and discovered it had been installed improperly so that the gutter was angled downward and away from the downspout. Since water can't run uphill, the gutter simply fills up during a rainfall, then water spills over the side and runs down the outside surface of my house. That's exactly the problem gutters are supposed to prevent. Since the gutter is always filled with standing water, my back yard is constantly swarmed with mosquitoes. And with the presence of West Nile Virus and other mosquito-borne illnesses, it is no longer safe for me or my family to venture into our own yard. I have called [redacted] of Champion Gutters more than two dozen times. He has made five separate appointments to come to my house to correct the problem, but he has not shown up for any of them. He now will no longer answer my calls. The contract we signed clearly states "five year warranty on installation" I have received an estimate from another gutter company for $480 to correct Champion Gutter's botched installationDesired Settlement: I request a refund of $480, the amount estimated to re-install the gutter in a proper and workman-like manner so that it will function.
