Atlantic home by Champion Homes
Atlantic home by Champion Homes that we purchased has a very nice layout, but unfortunately, it is not built for Tennessee. We tried to get an upgrade in the insulation, but the dealer very cleverly did not put the "energy star" name .. Just "insulation upgrade". The dealer and manufacturer felt the R11 in the walls and floors IS an upgrade. The moldings are poor quality and every nail mark is extremely obvious. The rear door frame indicates it should have had a deadbolt as well as the doorknob lock, but it only has the one lock. Before they finally sent a repair crew, we had to resort to tying the door to the washing machine to keep it shut. Even after their team did repairs, the weatherstripping is loose, and the door has not been opened. One outlet in the kitchen near the sink has a grounded plug, the other does not. Bathroom outlets and washing machine outlets are not grounded. We have been told by contractors we have hired for other jobs that the roof is the wrong type for the pitch and will have a short life span and that the siding is not properly installed in some spots. Windows are extremely drafty, even though they have been advertised as "thermopane" . Anti-scald setting means that to take a hot bath requires boiling some pots of water. When delivered, there was a tremendous amount of loose molding, chips and scratches on cabinets and entertainment center, staple marks clearly obvious on the walls, and sinks that leaked or were not working. Every thing seems to have been done as cheaply as possible, down to using only one of the nails to put up curtain rod hooks, instead of two normally sent in a package. Caulking was very sloppily done.
In their favor though... Their work team that fixed what they could were extremely patient and helpful. The layout, as previously stated, was one of the best we had seem. ","neu-1

Floors in home are getting soft spots. After being told the soft spots in my floor was from water setting under my home I had gutters installed. Under the home is dry and the floors are still getting soft. I need to have this problem solved. Also the tile around the counters fall off from time to time, they are only held on with hot glue, that's poor work. Desired SettlementThey need to send someone to my home to try and figure out why my floors are getting soft and replace the soft spots with new wood.Business Response Mr. [redacted] has agreed to allow Champion to conduct an inspection to determine the cause of this problem. Due to scheduling conflicts with my calendar, Mr. [redacted] has also agreed to wait until the week of September 7th to set a firm date for the inspection.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)I accepted the proposed date of the week of September 7th. Further more if I don't get the results I'm looking for I will reopen this case.
