7/23/14 Please be advised that this customer’s “complaint” is without merit, but a long story short, he just would not accept the fact that we would not provide free parts to repair the pump that he admittedly broke.Either he or who he claims is his customer, ordered an impeller to... replace a broken impeller, which he received.Obviously lacking the knowledge to do the repair. , the part was installs discover that the pump also required a front case, which was also broken but was not ordered. With a broken front case, the replacement part broke.,.so now the customer and his customer took turns on the phone demanding we send out new parts at no charge. No matter how many times it was explained, they refused to accept the fact that it was neither our fault, nor our responsibility...and he admittedly drove someone to utter a profanity. For that I apologize, but the fact is would not stop talking, nor would he accept any reasonable explanation...he just wanted a free part, and threatened to call everyone he knew to warn against our company,There is no amount in dispute, as the customer received exactly what he ordered.,.and he proceeded to brake the part, due to his negligence. For the record, he never spoke to ***, he spoke to [redacted] and myself, Sincerely,

I had a very similar experience with the owner of Champion Lighting named Perry as the last complainer didThis Perry is a disrespectful jerk*** & a bozo I also talked to people in the aquarium business (both his vendors and customers) and they say he is a piece of work to deal with and has no respect for his customersI ordered an expensive external pump $because my fish tank went down and I was in desperate need for an new pump to save my thousands of dollars worth of salt water fish so I paid $to ship it overnight which I had no problem paying for because I just needed an immediate fix Champion Lighting & Supply didn't stock the pump because they aren't a real distributor and had it dropped shipped from the factory direct from CaliforniaThe pump was received in a plain box with no instructions and appeared it was just thrown into the box but Perry the clown claims there were instructions but how would he know if it was dropped shipped and never saw the package? I installed the pump with the guidance of a professional and in days the pump leaked all over my basement Remember, NO INSTRUCTIONS WERE SENT!! I consider myself somewhat intelligent because I am a degreed Engineer and have had my own manufacturing & distribution businesses for the last years so I know the distribution businessWhen the pump leaked I immediately called Champion Lighting and talked to one of the subordinates and he said you need to call the pump manufacture to handle the warranty This was a call that lasted about seconds because they didn't want to help me and it was obvious that I was a botherThey didn't even have the courtesy to provide me the phone number so I had to research it on the web only to find out that the manufacture was moving from Colorado to California I attempted to call the factory and got a voicemail The Bozo Perry claims he checked the call log and he found nothing from my area code Meanwhile the bozo didn't realize I own have several phone lines and some are from other area codes so how would he know where I called from?
Obviously because they weren't willing to assist me I was back to the same problem and had to search the web for an immediate solution and luckily I found a highly professional company in Florida who stocked the pump and I had is shipped overnight once again and everything has been working well for months nowSince I put his order on my American Express Platinum card I have been disputing his charge for the last months He sent AMEX numerous letters that were filled with lies and stated that I broke the pump and didnt read his instructions or return and claim policy Well Bozo, it wasn't sent!!! I did recently go to his online store and his statement reads verbatim:
"All products carry the manufacturer's?? warranty, plus our guarantee of satisfactionIf you want in-stock items with no-hassle, best pricing, and like to
talk to knowledgeable, experienced, friendly staff, please call on our toll free line."
Please pay close attention to the lie above..."Guarantee of Satisfaction"
I recently left a message for the pump manufacturer and he called me back He is a very nice man and send me a replacement part so I can fix the pump myself which is great but now I have two expensive pumps and don't really need the second one I want Champion to buy the pump back from me and if not I will be suing them in small claims courtIn summary, this could have been resolved if Perry the Bozo offered me a solution and took back the last pump and fixed it He could have called the manufacturer and asked for the part and I would have brought the pump to his facility which is only minutes from me For this reason I would never recommend or buy anything from Champion Lighting & SupplyDesired Settlement: I want this guy to take back the pump, credit me for the pump, fix it (I am willing to waive the $shipping) and sell it because this is his business and I dont want to have to waste my additional time putting it on Ebay

Sincerely,

Review: Originally ordered a part from Champion and it broke so customer attempted to call Champion again to order replacement but was told by [redacted] that we must have installed it wrong and that we didn't know what we were doing. While client continued to talk to [redacted] the attitude that [redacted] provided became worse and more disrespectful. Not at all what is expected from a customer relations person speaking with a customer. Finally [redacted] responded with "I don't care what you [redacted] order I want to go home" since apparently it was closing time on the east coast at the time we called. I managed to get the name of their supervisor/ owner (his position was never clarified to us) His name was [redacted]. Spoke to [redacted] the next day and it seemed as if we were speaking to an older version of [redacted]. [redacted] said he was made fully aware of the situation and stood behind his "guy" which is admirable to support your staff but he also stated he agreed with how [redacted] handled it. He said "you know, sometimes people need to be told to [redacted] off" which again surprised me. He spoke with absolutely NO professionalism and stated in his 22 years of working he's never had a charge back which didn't seem to fit our conversation but I assumed he meant he's had no problems with payment. As I continued to speak calmly to him to get my point across he began to "fake cry" as I spoke to him which again surprised me. This is coming from a grown business man who is speaking to someone who has purchased his product. I eventually gave up. Disrespect seemed to be the norm at Champions office. I trully regret ever speaking to this "man" and purchasing his product. He gives the hobby of aquarium keeping a truly bad name. For as long as I remain in business I will divert people from his business and let them know how "Champion lighting" interacts with its customers. We had started the phone call with the intent to purchase an item but now the point is respect.Desired Settlement: The hopes that [redacted] and [redacted] get terminated. Apology from company. Refund.
