Champion Plumbing & Heating

I recently sold my house and my realtor referred me to Cory Y ( now operating as Champion Plumbing and Heating) for a leaky shower that needed to be fixed before the possession date of the house ( Jan 17, 2020) I was provided with a quote ( for less than $5000 and the work was going to be completed the same week. I was asked to provide a deposit for materials for I had given him $3000 as he was coming in 2 days to complete the work and we agreed to square up the rest that weekend ( I have written confirmation of this).
The next day he demanded another $1500 from me (no work done yet)
Cory never came to do the job because he said he hurt his back. He rebooked with us 3 different times and the third time he didn't show up I told him to refund my money as no work had been started yet and it was getting to the point where he would not be able to complete the work before possession of the house.
He agreed to me and my realtor that he would refund my money ( written proof can be provided my myself and my realtor).
I received several text messages from Cory on the evening of Jan 5, 2020, filled with abusive language and swearing (from the company phone) stating that there is no way he will be refunding my money because it is rightfully his and that I have been threatening him (i have never done such a thing). That he changed his mind and has written off my $3000 as a nonrefundable deposit. No where on the quote does it say that I even had to pay a deposit, let alone that it would be nonrefundable. He simply stated he changed his mind over some personal vendetta after already agreeing several times to return my money

No work was ever done by Cory, no materials were ever brought to my residence, nor has he provided me with any invoices he may have for materials he states he bought, along with not showing up every date that he said he would.
