Champion Pool Service Reviews (%countItem)

We've had several pool services over the years, but Champion is the best and we stay with them. The pool is always meticulously cleaned and never any algae left behind; no debris. I have never had to call them back for anything. :)

Champion installed all new equipment and re-plastered my pool.

Nick was my initial contact with the company - and he and Matt were outstanding and meticulous during the install. 5 Stars based on their work.

Nick was great communicating with me about the work to be done and after the work was completed.

Been doing a great job. Pool is always sparkling.

Thank you!

I am not one that would normally voice my displeasure online, but I will not be doing the right thing if I allowed this company to continue its practice.

I hired this company to service my pool. Jerry the owner came out and gave me the quote, he miscalculated the balance, when I called him out on it, he apologized and said it was a simple math error. I said no big deal.

Part of the contract was , I would receive a free filter change. I said great, because they haven't been cleaned in over a year. He informed me the reason the pressure was at 25pt was because my filters indeed needed cleaning.

He also stated, that he needed to drain the pool, I question why? Because there were very little if any algae, but later agreed .

The following week his crew came out and drained my pool, and I noticed the filters hadn't been cleaned. I asked the pool guy why haven't it been done, he claimed that he had cleaned them and he would re-check. After two weeks of not returning my phone call I decided to hire a true professional company.

The President of this company, informed me that there were absolutely no reason to drain the pool and that the filters was never cleaned. I then contacted the owner Jerry of Champion Pools, and cancelled his services, he apologize, and is now sending me an invoice for draining my pool. This is not a professional company, it is a one man operation, take my advice and void this company at all cost.

Thank you for the review. I appreciate this opportunity to share our experience as well. We have 400 customers and strive to ensure every customer is satisfied.

First of all, our evaluation showed the pool had a stabilizer level of 150+, which is about 2x the normal level and that is why the pool needed draining...any reputable pool company would have told the customer the same thing. We gave the customer the option of draining 1/2 of the pool water or using an enzyme treatment to gradually reduce the level. We even offered to let the customer drain the pool themselves rather than us do it. He didn't know how so we discussed how he would do it, but ultimately he opted to let us drain it for him. We are including a link to the signed agreement where customer authorized the charge for draining the pool:

We allowed the customer to use a free filter clean coupon to start up service since the filter hadn't been cleaned in a long time and the pressure was at 25psi. We performed the filter clean during the first visit where the pool was drained. Here is a link to the pool before draining and before we started service on it:

We cleaned the filter during this first visit when the pool was green because the filter would need to be clean in order to clear the pool up. Because the pool was green (see photo above) when we started service, you would expect that the filters would develop a coating of algae after running a week trying to clear up a green pool. We are including a link to the pool after the first week of service, and as you can see, the pool looks fantastic. Feel free to check the geocoding on the photos to verify they were taken in the correct sequence:

At this point we believe the customer was taken advantage of by another company that preyed on their lack of knowledge regarding how filters work and what a filter should look like 7 days after being cleaned when the pool was full of algae upon cleaning. Sureif the pool was already clear you would not expect the cartridges to be green 7 days after a filter cleaning, but when you start with a pool containing algae, that's what you expectthe algae has to go somewhere when the pool clears. These filter cartridges look exactly as we would expect them to. We even indicated to the customer that a 2nd filter clean might be needed.

The customer is disputing the filter clean was done based on what was told to him by a competing company trying to get his business. He is refusing to pay the fee for draining the pool that he signed off on and has not disputed was done.

If you notice he has no pictures (LINKS) of the filters before/after that he claimed to have cleaned. You know why? Because they were never cleaned. Read the other complaints of how he attempts to collect for shabby work or work not done. Case Closed!

Customer is correct that we did not have filter cleaning photos because technician forgot to take them. However, if you know anything about pools you know the pool would not have cleared up to this level had the filter clean not been completed.

We offered to the customer to come back and do another filter clean to make sure he was satisfied but he would not allow us back on his property. We have 400+ satisfied customers and would not be in business very long if we conducted business in the manner this customer has stated. By the way the customer was using a coupon for the filter clean so we were not charging him for it. I'm just trying to get paid for the drain and fill he signed off on in the agreement. Customer is trying to get out of paying.
