Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below I will address each aspect of their response individually: 1) “their sump pump failed due to electrical failure” - The cause of sump pump failure was not due to electrical failureI spoke with the master plumber at Zoeller Pumps who confirmed this was not possible based on the information available At no point did we lose power at our home (confirmed by LG&E), no circuit breakers were tripped, and the pump was continually running the entire weekendThe owner of the company is likely referring to how they wired the power cord of the sump pump and connected it to an outlet also providing electricity to both our washer and dryer In order for “electrical failure” to have occurred, these appliances would have had to be turned on and running Electrical failure could potentially occur if the sump pump, washer and dryer were drawing more amperes than available within the circuit, but this would short the circuit and trip the circuit breakerAs mentioned, this did not happen no circuit breakers were tripped, the sump pump was running all weekend, and we never lost power2) “they are attempting to blame this on workmanship too, not the case” This was 100% due to workmanshipAs stated in my original complaint, Champion Waterproofing installed the sump pump not to manufacturer’s standardsI have proof that they installed the sump pump and connected it to a one-inch line instead of the required 1.5-inch pipingIn the instruction manual for the specific Zoeller pump installed (attached), they warn “do not use a discharge pipe smaller than the pump discharge” The pump discharge was inches and connected to inch pipingAgain, the owner told me himself that they used inch pipe with their original installationWithout going into the specific physics of fluid flow through pipes/tubes (which I can do and will do, if needed), it is common sense that decreasing the diameter of the pipe would decrease the flow rate considerably and would “choke out” the pump to a point it is not able to perform near its standardsI never disputed the fact that our sump pump “failed”That is why I filed a claim through our insurance under “sump pump failure/backup” The reason why it failed is because it was not installed to manufacturer’s standards, thus a failure of workmanship and thus the issue at hand 3) “His neighbor then called our office and proceeded to physically threaten the women in our office along with violently threatening me” - My neighbor returned home to find our discharge line pointed at his driveway and basement windowHe was very upset and informed us of his dissatisfaction with the situationAs mentioned in my original complaint, I did not authorize the discharge line to be located there and was promised I would be able to walk the property with their worker and determine the most suitable place to dispose of the waterThis never happened, as the worker ran the discharge line without my knowledge nor my consentThe conversations had between my neighbor and Champion Waterproofing do not involve my [redacted] and I, as that appears to be a completely separate issue not applicable to my complaint 4) “My office usually only has our bookkeeper and office manager in the office during the dayUpon hearing these physical threats I advised them to lock the doors for their safety” - First of all, I never threatened anybody, including the owner and his staffThe doors at his office building were locked not due to physical threats, but instead when I offered to simply pick up a copy of our contract or even a voided blank contract so that I could read the fine printUpon arrival to their office building, I was nothing but respectful to ***, their bookkeeper and was shocked to find out that the owner would threaten to fire his worker if she considered opening the door and giving me a copy of my contractIn fact, at the end of our encounter, upon explaining to her our situation and the dissatisfaction with how we had been treated by the owner, she started to cryAt that time, I explained that it was not her fault and that I did not hold her responsibleTo suggest that I physically threatened the workers is a complete and utter insult and representative of the character of the owner 5) “Every customer is given a copy of the contract and all our contact information when we finish the jobThe same goes for this customerThey have a copy” - We were provided a warranty and an “owners manual” upon completion of the jobAfter our basement flooded and my desk was underwater, we were unable to locate our contract and simply requested a copy To this date, now almost three weeks after the flood, we have yet to received a copy despite numerous requestsWe were promised it would be sent in the mail over two weeks ago 6) “I did the absolute best I could to help out as fast as I could” - As mentioned in the original complaint, I called Friday night and numerous times on Saturday and Sunday and did not hear back until Monday at am (>hours after the first attempt to contact Champion)On Friday, at first glance of water in the basement, we read through our owners manual and followed the instructions provided, which states, “Every effort has been made to insure that you have no leakage in the futureHowever, due to the nature of your water seepage problems, a new leak could occurIf this happens, please do not be upsetCall us anytime Monday through Saturday and we will make you our first priority.” We called them Friday, Saturday and Sunday and were essentially left in the dark, helplessly watching the water rise in our basement and waiting for someone to return our messages 7) ”They had the opportunity to work with us, and let us use some of our resources to help put the basement back togetherThey have declined any help that was offeredThey are more interested in threatening myself and my companyI offered over and over to help out any way that I can.” - The owner did offer to put us in contact with contractors that could redo the basement “at cost”; however, this was a still a considerable cost to us and one for which we should not be responsible He offered this one time and ultimately refused to continue to work with us the moment I requested the copy of our contractWe chose to pay thousands of dollars to protect our basement and our personal property contained therein, but instead, we received the complete opposite resultOur investment in Champion Waterproofing resulted with our personal property and family heirlooms ruined and ultimately hauled away in a dumpster Let’s not forget the fact that we had to remove our 4-month-old daughter from her home because of no heat, hot water, and unsafe living conditionsThe owner claims he offered “over and over” to help but never suggested helping us find alternative accommodations for our familyAside from the dispute at hand, what my [redacted] and I find to be exceptionally disheartening is how the owner handled this situation and treated us from the moment he entered our homeAs mentioned above, the owner believed the sump pump failed due to electrical issuesHe knew we filed an insurance claim and that a field adjustor would visit our home within the next few daysThe owner actually asked me to alter the configuration of the sump pump wiring prior to the field adjustor’s arrivalI was taken aback by this peculiar request and made to feel very uncomfortable with this request and his intentions8) “He has refused any help and the last form of communication I received was a text stating I would hear from his attorney” - Yes, I have contacted a lawyer, as I believe anyone in my situation would do, but I have not filed a formal suitIt clearly states on the Revdex.com website that complaints can be filed when “talking with a lawyer” My [redacted] and I are trying to avoid a legal suit and just want to be made whole again We firmly believe that our damages are a direct result of failure of workmanship and plan to pursue this matter to the fullest extent Regards, [redacted]

To whom it may concern, We have tried numerous times to help this particular homeowner outHis crawlspace takes on so much water that Zoeller 1/3hp sump pump could not pump out the water fast enough The Zoeller 1/hp pump is the industry standard for this application (a crawlspace less then 1,sqft) After realizing the pump couldn't handle the amount of water we installed a 2nd sump pump at no cost for the pump, or the labor During the next flood, with both pumps pumping full speed, his breaker tripped This was made clear so I recommended an electrician be called I, the owner, sat in this customers crawlspace during one of the record rains we had this past spring The water was coming up from below the crawlspace floor faster then I have ever seen I expressed this to the customer He know has pumps, separate discharge lines with shorter pumping distances, an interior drainage system around his crawlspace, and a vapor barrier We have been out there to help him more then times We cannot offer better customer service It appears a refund is the only way to make this customer happy however I am not prepared to offer a refund simply because a customer demands it We upheld this customers warranty throughout all of these issues and will continue to uphold the warranty

I am confused The paragraph below was taken directly from his inspection report It says ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about needing to repair the cracks in his crawlspace If surface storm water continues to enter through this or other cracks in the crawlspace, the installed sump pumps should be more than adequate to remove waterfrom crawlspace without causing structural damage or spilling into the basement from the crawlspace access door Again, his basement and crawlspace are completely waterproofed The inspection report agrees with all that was done The inspection report also clearly states that their is NO MOISTURE in his crawlspace I am not sure what this homeowner wants We have done our job Thank you, [redacted] Owner

On Friday 6/19/a crew of four was sent to address this problem The crew tested out the waterproofing system and began to investigate the problem While inspecting the problem we found a crack the was not previously addressed The crack was leaking water We sealed the crack and made sure all other parts to the waterproofing system worked properly We apologize for the issue and are certain no other issues will arise with this building Customer service is very important to us and we deeply apologize for the inconvience

[redacted] I would like to add the following to the complaint (ID [redacted] ) if possible. After straightening up the miscommunications with Champion Waterproofing, I was contacted by the owner, offered an apology, and received what I requestedThis was handled very well and I commend his professionalismThanks

My name is Luke [redacted] and I am the owner of Champion Waterproofing and Piering LLC I wanted to respond IMMEDIATELY to this complaint to resolve the issue While we are not surprised that Mr [redacted] filed this complaint with the Revdex.com, we are however still appalled that he did We waterproofed his home and he will receive a LIFETIME TRANSFERABLE WARRANTY on the entire basement We will uphold the warranty of our system and I stand behind my men and the way the work was performed This customer had a hidden agenda the entire job He was dishonest with myself, my men, and all who was in charge He was untruthful about conversations that he and I had about the correct way to fix his problem He used racial comments throughout the entire job telling me that he didn't want an African American on his property simply because "he couldn't trust him." He was disrespectful, manipulative, and pushy throughout the entire job The basement was waterproofed correctly and will never leak again, which is what Mr [redacted] hired and paid us for We made the following attempts to please Mr***Took off $3, A 25% discount Spent days working on what was only supposed to take days to complete Mr [redacted] had a way that he wanted it done which completely interfered with the CORRECT way Made an emergency trip at 12:a.mto plug in a sump pump half way through the job In the years I have been in the home improvement industry and the years I have owned Champion I have never ran across a customer with such lack of respect and gratitude I urge any prospective customers to not judge myself or my company on the complaints of this customer We hold great respect for all our customers and treat their homes like they are our own I am sorry this customer felt this way and wish him the best of luck Luke [redacted] Owner Champion Waterproofing and Piering LLC

I am really confused All the dates and details in this complaint are incorrect We installed jacks under an I beam in this crawlspace That is what we were hired to do Once finished, the customer couldn't have been happier Loved our crew and the work! No complaints The jacks worked fine for years In this time the ENTIRE house was remolded top to bottom All flooring was removed, floors where leveled, and new floors put back During the construction of this home of the jacks got jostled out of place and bent This happens to floor jacks when the floor above is removed This is no big deal, it can be fixed We had every intention of replacing this for him, FOR FREE at that Below is the time line on what occurred 5/12/- customer called and notified that jack had moved and bent Again, this jack had been in the crawlspace years wor [redacted] just fine 5/19/- A crew arrived at the home to fix after customer and owner discussed the problem and came up with a solution The solution was a new jack under a new concrete footer We arrived, put a "temporary" jack to brace the I-beam, and poured a concrete slab for the new jack placement Common rule is at minimum of WEEKS CURE TIME FOR CONCRETE We needed to wait weeks to come back and put the jack on top of the new concrete We left the job and everybody way happy, extremely happy at that No problems, no complaints, no issues They were to wait weeks and we would return and place the jack on the new fully cured concrete 6/1/- I received a letter from an attorney requesting $7,be paid back to the homeowner It had been days since we left, business days., The concrete was not even fully cured, we need at least days 6/1/- Called homeowner times to schedule install and question complaint 6/2/- Called homeowner and left message 6/3/- Called homeowner and left message 6/4/- called homeowner If this homeowner would like me to come out and replace the jack that broke, please tell me him to answer his phone or call us back This whole thing is confusing me

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response If you wish, you may update it before sending it.] Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved Regards, [redacted]

I reject Champion's response Precipitation reports for my area show we sustained little to no rainfall for our area from mid-July to mid-October, the dates of my last flood and the inspectionTherefore it is unreasonable to assume the crawlspace would contain any moisture whether or not Champion's system functions properly The inspection report clearly recommends the repairing the crack which contradicts Mr***'s assessment of the reportMr*** also claims the crack must remain in order for Champion's system to properly workI maintain any system that requires a flaw as indicated by a licensed inspector is an unacceptable system What about Mr***'s assertion that the water table rises into my crawlspace while my basement can remain dry? I need further clarification on this claim Mr*** claims in our Revdex.com correspondence he will honor the warrantyHowever I have produced an email in which Mr*** claims repairing the crack my void my warranty. This email clearly exposes Mr*** employs deception, as does the water table claim or the refusal to acknowledge the inspector recommending we repair the crack

To start I want to say that this company did $dollars worth of damage to my home The way it went down was not that the Manager or Forman brought it to my attention I had went down into my basement and found the damage and then I had to bring it up to them I was told that they were going to have a contractor come out to give an estimate to determine the cost to repair and this person never came to my home During this company doing work at my home one of there employees ran over my neighbors mail box and they have not made that right with them and since Luke *** the owner has said he is done with me I will have to fix this issue myselfI had a new patio installed and when Tim *** came out to sale the job I was promised that they would cover the patio so not to damage The company did not insure that as promised I had to on two occasions tell the employees to cover the patio Before you hire this company you need to ask to see the Pits that they will use The pit that they used on my house is the cheapest pit you can buy and I also feel is unsafe to have in a home with children because the lid is almost impossible to close It is sad that a company would use this kind of pit when there are much safer and better pits are available but I guess that would cut into profitOne of the issue I still have at my home is the drainage line The line that this company put in was done wrong And I can say this because I have had plumber and other contractors come out to my home to evaluate what was done I also know because me and my plumber stood out on my patio with Luke *** for over and hour where this was told to him The amazing thing to me is how someone can be in business and not know this basic information where in order for water to flow it has to run down hill How many home has this company ran discharge lines incorrectly if the owner does not understand this And what this does in burn out pumps way before they should which cost the home owner money which apparently Luke *** does not care about At this time Luke has said he will not correct this and I will have to hire another company to correct this issue I was promised how the job would be done one issue was that the ditch next to the footer would be inches if I had not checked their work they would have only made the ditch about inches One evening I went down to check how thing were going and I found that my pit was not done yet and the pump and been unplugged and was setting down in mud and we were suppose to have a big rain that night which would have flooded my basement I will say I call Tim and he came out at AM but the issue is that if I had not checked there work There could have been much much more damage to my home do to neglect I had a problem with one of there employees that got upset and use inappropriate language like God *** and F words and I have a year old grand daughter in my home that could hear and even after I went up to the employee and said hay I have a year old in the next room the employee continued for almost another 5-min I had a problem with the Forman that they had on my job The reason I had a issue was because he had made big mistakes and also he was not obeying the agreement not to smoke on my property so I told Tim that I did not want the employee back on my property Believe or not that employee showed up at my home the next day even thought I was told he would not return The most interesting thing is I call the owner Luke *** on this and he said you can't fire or lay off my employee The thing that Luke does not understand is that I was not saying he had to fire the employee I just did not trust this person and I did not want him back on my property and this was not honored I was told that the few items that I had in my basement would be covered so not to get dirty or damaged I went down in my basement more than once and had to ask that they cover the items and on one occasion my wife has a antique chair that is white in color and the employees were using it with there sweaty clothes as a clothes rack and I had to ask that they remove there items and cover I was told by Tim on a number of days that he would show up and make sure everything would be running like it should and he would not show up until the end of the day or not at all I expect when someone says they are going to do something to do it, that was not the case at this job and If I had not been having any problems maybe this would be ok but I was having many issueI have a pit in my basement that has a inch whole in it that should not be there and has the potential of draining water back under my basement floor and Luke *** the owner says he will not make this right I have a pit that should have a check value installed per Zoeller the pump company that Luke *** the owner says he will not do and the interesting thing is that before Luke showed up to my house the employees had a valve that was going to be installed but when he showed up things went from bad to times worse The day that Luke showed up to my house he came with Tim and they went down into the basement and I thought good maybe things will improve and I did not go down to give Luke time to look things over Next thing that happens Tim disappears and I see my discharge line being thrown into the back of there pickup So I went down stairs to find out what was going on and nothing that was agreed to was being done and I brought this up to Luke and his response was this is what it is going to be I couldn't believe this and of course Tim was not present so I could have cornered him with what he had agreed to do and Tim never has returned to my home Part of the agreement was to run a line for a second pit and they were suppose to both run to the same area Because Luke was changing things that I did not agree with completely but with Luke my plumber and myself we had come up with a possible solution and Luke said he would come out the next day to run this line That did not happen and the real problems was that Luke pressured my to pay $which I did even though the agreement was payment would be done at the end of the job Luke did not come back before I left for vacation I called him and left a message suggesting that Luke Tim and I meet when I get back and figure out what to do I would have thought that Luke would have called me back but he did not I called him back and Luke said he will not come back to my property and fix the issue he said to hire someone else He was extremely rude on the phone and this was not the first time I have had my plumber and my son that was here the one day and both have made comments to me that it was very unprofessional how he talked to me I am sorry that this my be a little wordy but believe it or not this is not all the wrong things that happen on this job ,what this company has put my family thru should not happen and the most sorry thing is that it comes from the topI would most diffidently not hire this company again
I will proceed with the lies in the response given by Luke ***
The only agenda that I have is to have my basement waterproofed and to have the job done right as agreed to
The issue with honesty I have been nothing but honest with this company They are the one that have been dishonest
thru out this whole process and the ***ment above address not all but most of the lies and dishonesty
Calling me a racial motivated person I will not use the word that Luke called me is so off base I did have a problem with
their foreman which happen to be a African American employee and my issue with this employee was that he was making
big mistakes that could have cost Luke more than $10,dollars The issue with the damage to my property was under
his watchThe Sump pump that was left unplug on the night that we were expecting a heavy rain The ditch that was
suppose to be inch and was only inch His Smoking on my property even after I complained to Tim and he still
continued My asking that this employee not to return to my property has nothing to do with his color but has everything
to do with his inability to do his job as was agreed with Tim For Luke to use the discrimination card is so wrong it is
unbelievable And also If I as a home owner was uncomfortable with a person on my property I have a right to denign
access to that person
Luke has not taken off $from my bill if he is referring to the $worth of damage that his employee did to my
house than that is incorrect I still have $worth of work that still needs to be done and corrected Then I guess he
owes me a check to make things right
The company was here days and the work is still not done but when your employee don't show up till am and they
leave at and they take a hour break and when they come they never have the supplies they need you are only
getting about hours of work a day and that might be the reason that it took days and still not done And I was
told it would take days not as ***d in Luke's response
Yes there was a emergency trip at 12:am and the reason was because one of his employees made a big mistake
and did not have my pit done and the water was backing up into my basement and the sump pump had be left in mud
and unplugged Which was cause by that one employee that I asked not to return
I urge Luke's prospective customers to judge this company on the truth as I have ***d And one more thing I just got done spending 1/hours taking care of a mail box that his company ran over and did not take care of completely or as they had promise my neighbor Which I did not appreciate that I had to take care of there neglect
I have been doing business for longer that Luke has been alive and I can tell you he is one of the rudest owner I have met

This is a very unfortunate situation that their basement flooded. It is no fault of ours.Their sump pump failed due to what I believe to be electrical failure. I, the owner, rushed out there first thing on Monday and met with them. I also met with the owner of the Restoration
company the same day. Both agreed the sump pump failed. They filed an insurance claim due to those circumstances. They are attempting to blame this on workmanship too, not the case.We rushed out within hours to reroute his sump pump discharge. Apparently we accidentally pointed the new discharge line towards his neighbors driveway. His neighbor then called our office and proceeded to physically threaten the women in our office along with violently threaten me. He was enraged that water was on his driveway. We assured him this would be fixed in the morning, and it was. We also started getting phone calls from blocked numbers asking for private company and insurancel information. My office usually only has our bookkeeper and office manager in the office during the day. Upon hearing these physical threats I advised them to lock the doors for their safety.Every customer is given a copy of the contract and all our contact information when we finish the job. The same goes for this customer. They have a copy. This customer agreed it was his sump pump when I was their, as did the restoration company. I did the absolute best I could to help out as fast as I could. They had the opportunity to work with us, and let us use some of our resources to help put their basement back together. They have declined any help that was offered. They are more interested in threatening myself and my company. I offered over and over to help out any way that I can. He has refused any help and the last form of communication I received was a text stating I would be hearing from his attorney

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *** and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. With regards to the drain. There was no repeated discussion of the drain. There was not standing water in it at the time of the inspection. I never talked to the installers the day of the install. I barely talked to the installers at all as they came in and out the back door and did their work. I was upstairs while they were in the basement. Attached is the quote provided by the owner. No where on this quote does it mention that I declined to have them fix the drain. I had quotes from different companies and didn't make corrections to any of the suggestions by the company. Each had a different idea of what needed to be done, but I allowed each business to make their proposal and I accepted it as is. I never said don't do the drain and don't do in front of the crawlspace. There was no forcing the homeowner to fix anything. The electrician was sent out by ***, but we had to pay the service fee. I talked to two different electricians recommended by *** and they told me the same thing, that electric is not the problem. As you can see on the quote, it says they can install an outlet for $200. It never says that a dedicated circuit needs to be installed. The warranty doesn't specify that a dedicated circuit needs to be installed. No where in the process did it mention a dedicated circuit until the waterproofing failed to do the job. ***'s recommendation for the drain issue was to install a new drain and another sump pump. Why would the recommendation of installing a new sump pump knowing that we still do not have a dedicated circuit? This fix ix contradictory to what he is saying the problem is. With regards to prompt response. *** was prompt up until the time that his own electrician told him it wasn't a problem with the electric. *** sent out the election on Wednesday July 15th. I called shortly after he left and *** didn't call me back. My wife sent him two emails on 7/and he finally responded. We sent him another email on July 22nd after his installers "flushed" the system. No response. Sent the email again 7/and got a response. Replied back on 7/and never heard from him again (today is 7/28).***'s suggestion to fix the basement was spend another $on top of what we already spent ($for the install plus $to the electrician). Per ***, this will fix the problem. But 1. It appears that he is just guessing what the problem is and doesn't know for sure. 2. Why recommend a 2nd sump pump when he is claiming electric is the problem? This would only add to the electric problem. We as homeowners trust the guidance of the professionals and assume they know what they are doing when they make recommendations. I would never tell someone not to do something they recommend if it is their line of business as they know their job just like I know my business better than most. I repeat, I never told *** not to do anything. He made his proposal and I accepted it as is. See the attached quote for everything he recommended and said that they were going to do. If a proposal was made to do the other areas, this would have been on the quote along the lines of "owner rejects ...."I am not trying to use the Revdex.com to get free work. I just want it done correctly. I am now down almost $and Champion made the problem worse as the last rain caused it to flood more than it did before the install. At this point, the options of resolution are:1. I can get a quote from someone else and have Champion pay for the installChampion can come in and fix the issues, but I expect it to be 100% fixed this time.___________________________________________________________________________... On another note, we called and talked to another waterproofing company today. In outlining the situation to them without giving names, their first statement was "Let me guess, you went with Champion and have been dealing with ***". It appears that ***'s reputation for failing to deliver a quality product is spreading throughout the industry when the competitors know him by name based upon a generalized situation.
Regards,
*** ***

I did not make any repairs to this homeowners exterior drain because he did not want to pay for the repairs If he would like a new exterior drain he can pay us to do this or pay another company I suggested he repair it and he chose not to I am sorry

COMPLAINT # ***, Reason for rejection: Pertaining to my attorney friend (Mr*** ***s) letter, only requesting that Mr*** replace bent jack and install an additional jack as requested or we would take actionTo have inspection and obtain legal representation to have Mr*** stand behind lifetime-transferrable warrantyWe would be happy to send copy of such letter to prove first comments are not trueWe never ask for a refund and as for dates, that is a give or take situationFloor's were never removed, we lightly stained them and put a mop and glow shine on themMr*** had stated twice in his response that the floors had been replaced and that is simply not trueMr*** is coming up with excuses, insufficient amount of jacks installedPrevious job took to days to install jacksWhere are the weeks for the footer's to dry at? My conversation with Mr*** stated I must pay more money for his man crew to come back the next day to install jack and allow concrete footer to dryOnce again where are the weeks? These accounts are all completely false The day of the original inspection I spoke very clearly with the homeowner about the outside drain in the back It didn't appear to be working There was clear evidence of standing waterThe homeowner repeatably told me the drain was fine
He repeated this to my installers the day of the install, as we all advised him of the same thing We then had a very large rain and the drain backed up leaving about inches of standing water to flood under the door I would never overlook a problem when I inspect a home, but I cannot force a homeowner to fix it The electrician was sent out there because we made it very clear that the sump pump we installed needed to be on a dedicated line On my post inspection it revealed they had an electrician split the outlet off another plug This will make the pump malfunction I referred them to a reputable plumber to help them out The pump is still not plugged into a dedicated line, thus voiding all warranty until the pump can properly work. We have call logs, emails, and text records of us being extremely responsive and helpful as soon as we heard there was a problem We returned all calls and emails very promptly. The use of the Revdex.com is not to make the company pay for free work or to take advantage of the system Please understand that when you pay us to perform a service we do it to the best of our abilities We can make recommendations and educate the homeowner the best we can but they make the final decision on what they want to do

I will try to reach out to this customer and resolve this issue We apologize for the delay in response time

Champion Waterproofing installed a basement waterproofing system for this customer in March of 2016.  The system worked perfectly for 2 years.  During this time the basement was remodeled.  Electricity was not properly supplied for the sump pump.  During the largest rain Louisville has seen in 50 years, this customers sump pump failed.  They filed an insurance claim for sump pump failure and were awarded over $10,000.  Sump pump failure is not covered in Champion's warranty.  Champion does not manufacturer Zoeller sump pumps so we cannot except responsibility if they fail.  This is stated very clearly on our contract, which was given to them along with an owners manual about the pump.Champion sent the owner out within hours of hearing the complaint.  Champion is not open on Saturdays,  if voicemails are left on Friday night, they will not get answered until Monday.  Champion then sent a technician out with 24 hours.  Champion graciously installed a brand new sump pump with greater horse power.   The larger sump pump required a larger discharge line.  Champion also sent a technician out install the larger line.  They also re-routed the discharge line at no cost to the front yard, rather then the back.  These were all failed attempts to help the customer out.   These attempts only made it look as if we were taking ownership of the problem, when we were just making attempts to help.  All of the things Champion did were valued at over $1,200.  Since this has happened Champion has received threatening calls from the neighbor, has received harassing calls from blocked numbers asking for company insurance information, and had people coming up to the office asking for blank contracts.  We have done everything we could for this customer.  This is an extremely unfortunate situation and Champion has done their best to offer support and help.  Customer Service DepartmentChampion Waterproofing and Piering
