Want money but don't deliver product. Contracted on May 30, 2018 for sunroom windows, have been told three times that we are next on list. Spoke with *** on Friday August 3, very rude individual that could not install as it was going to rain. Hasn't rained for three business days now and scheduled to rain for next five days. Was told if I cancel contract I still will pay 30%. I have already made two payments and still no product. They are the worst service oriented company I have ever worked with. They do not return calls. They want their money but deliveries are horrible. Their management people are rude and uncaring, not concerned for their customers. They should not be employed with any service oriented employer. This is a national company and had I known how disrespectful and slow to deliver product I would have never contracted with them. They have customers over a barrel to pay but they can deliver at their convenience. I want my contract fulfilled now. This is the worst company to do business with. Never again. I hope we can stop people from working with them. GO TO *** FOR PEOPLE THAT CARE AND DELIVER AS PROMISED. PLEASE HELP.

Desired Outcome

Deliver my windows asap

Mrs. job was started on 08/08/18. We are sorry that her project was delayed. Her project's structure is complete and is now waiting on a custom glass order of which we have rushed. Upon arrival we will install and have complete.

Customer Response • Aug 14, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The custom window order was indicated on contract signed 5/30. All windows were custom. No one reviewed the windows they received vs. what was to be ordered. Part of the windows already installed they did not have the frames to complete so temporary metal pieces are holding them in place. I certainly hope they have ordered those. Sliding door handle is loose as the screws are stripped. Very dissatisfied with this company.

Champion contracted to install a large Sun Room on our new home. Great professional experience; sales team, supervisor and install guys. Professional and experienced. Enjoying the room! Thanks for a good job!

Champion installed a new roof on my home and it continues to leak and all they do is put some more caulk and say it is fixed, but it still leaks. Champion installed new roof on my home last April 2017. The person that came to give estimate 1st of all said my neighborhood was rough, not even knowing if they were my family. He talked us out of the type of roof we wanted, that is on us. We had to take out a loan to cover the amount that our insurance did not cover, Champion set us up with their lender and they got their money up front, they have been paid. There was still a difference around $600 due and the roofer actually called me at work to get this paid by credit card before he would start. The roof was installed in April 2017, they did not order enough material to cover the roof and covered side porch and when the roofer was called to get more materials, he wanted to argue that we did not even have a covered side porch, but additional materials were finally and all was roofed. However it has continued to leak. Someone had been out 3 times and have just applied caulk and said it was fixed. No one has yet to even look under the wet spot on our front porch. My husband called and explained our frustration with getting this fixed. Champion said they would have the roofer come look at it and he would call for an appointment. The roofer called last week, week of April 2 2018 to make an appt. I was on vacation that week, but after recalling that I lived in the cow-pastures in , he said he was unable to get there this week, but would contact another roofer to come week of April 9th because it would be a problem for either of them to get there the week before but he would have the other roofer call to see when he could come. I explained that my husband and I work and normally do not get home from work until after 5 PM. We have not heard back from Champion nor either of the roofers and roof is still leaking. Not only have they insulted my neighborhood/neighbors and where I live, no one has fixed our leak. Champion and the roofers have their money, they made sure they got that before they even started. If I do not pay on the loan they helped me get so they could get their money, it does not even hurt them, it would only negatively effect my credit.

Desired Outcome

I would just like for someone to take the time to look at and fix my roof at a time I nor my husband have to leave work or use our vacation time to wait on someone to show up.

We will call Mrs. on Monday the 23rd to reschedule her roof repair.

Siding was delivered on Nov 29 with a start date of the same day. As of today, less than 1/2 of the siding is on the house. I initiated a contract with Champion for siding and gutters to begin on 11/29/17. The first crew that was sent did not work full days and was terminated three weeks into the job because they didn't show up in a timely manner and did not work full days. The crew even asked me for money to help pay for supplies. A second crew was promised within the week. This was to be a 4 person crew. Two weeks passed and 2 person crew finally showed up. There have been several days in which weather was a factor and I understand that. Today I received a call that the crew would not be here this week until Wednesday and was told I knew that. I actually was told by the crew member that he was going to get out of his MD appointment and be here today. Here I am, many weeks into this project, without even 1/2 of the project complete. There are exposed areas on the house without siding and cold air is coming.

Desired Outcome

In addition to the job being completed, I believe there should be a reduction in the overall bill since this has created an undue amount of stress in my life. During this time, my father also passed away and I've been trying to balance this project and grieve at the same time.

Champion Window Company of Chattanooga Response • Jan 26, 2018

I have spoken with Mrs. and she has graciously agreed to let us continue the siding project on her home. We have had cold weather delays which can make the siding brittle when it is below 30 degrees, ice and rain delays and some delay with the holidays. We expect her project to be complete next week.

Customer Response • Feb 01, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This process was delayed for reasons other than just weather. The siding install was completed on January 30th. I am still waiting for gutter installation. There has been no mention of offering to reduce my bill. This has been a huge inconvenience and has caused undue stress. In addition I have had to run the heat more due to lack of insulation for the time that walls were exposed.

We are working with Mrs. to complete a few other issues she has identified. She is currently out of town and we intend on scheduling a time with her upon her return to fix and issues she has remaining.

Product/Guarantee/Warranty/Service Issue
I purchased my home on June 30, 2017 from . After extensive remodeling I finally moved into the house in August 2017 and got around to the problem with the windows. After discovering they are Champion Windows and calling the Champion office to inquire.. it took about a month or more to get a sales rep out to the house to inspect the windows. Discovered the windows were still under warranty but Ms. did not disclose this or the issue with the windows. I was told the warranty had to be transferred to me in 30 days of the sale. 30 days here and gone! LOL.. However these windows were purchased in 2005.. the product is still a CHAMPION WINDOW and it is under warranty and most likely these windows were defective as 13 sashes are damaged. They all have a defective seal/bond. (damaged thermal seal) IF Ms. had followed suit and repaired the windows it would cost her 99.00. I, on the other hand am getting charged 70.00 per sash, which is 910.00. From my understanding, Champion warranties are for at least 20-25 years! I am told that Mr. (Divisional Mgr) has no control and his corporate office will do nothing. This is unacceptable and unexpected of Champion Windows to not stand behind their product. I, as well as the public, is under the impression that Champion Windows is a lucrative company therefore, not needing to nickel and dime the consumer. These actions spell out a different picture. I would like to speak with someone at the corporate office about QUALITY CONTROL and WHAT they DO STAND BEHIND at CHAMPION WINDOWS. Obviously this batch of windows had a defect thermal seal in 8 windows. (13 sashes) I am wondering if in 2005 they had a problem with the thermal seal breaking in these type windows?! I would like Champion to repair these windows for a fair price of no more that 99.00, which is what MS. would have paid if she had been honest about these CHAMPION WINDOWS that were defective! I also would like a warranty on the replaced windows.

Desired Outcome

I would like the corporate office to get involved and take a look back at this batch of windows from 2005 and see if they had an abundance of thermal seal damage. I would like to be offered to pay 99.00 to replace the damaged windows and a warranty on those replaced windows as many years as MS. had left in her warranty. I do not know WHY Ms. did not contact Champion Windows about this problem is beyond my understanding. I should not be penalized by not having a warranty transferred in 30 days .. of which I was NOT aware of!

Champion Window Company of Chattanooga Response

Mrs. is not a customer of Champion. We have no contract nor any warranty agreement with Mrs.. I have attached a copy of our window warranty.

1) Mrs. is not the original purchaser
2) The warranty was not transferred by the original owner.

Upon purchasing the home from the original owner this should have been resolved by her and her realtor with the original purchaser. This is how this is normally done and we deal with such issues regularly having a lifetime warranty. Our warranty is a legal document and we always follow our legal agreements.

This has been explained to Mrs. by our local office, Warranty services from our corporate headquarters, my service manager and I. I personally explained this exact information to Mrs. realtor as well.

Our service manager did go to her home at no charge to look over the issues and offered to fix the issue at cost.

We handle all of customer warranties however since Mrs. is not our customer, she did not pay anything to us for the windows and she is not covered under our lifetime warranty we cannot fix her issues under a warranty.

Thank you

I have to separate the good from the bad in this review to be totally fair. The product was fine except that no higher grade (of vinyl siding) was offered, I had seen the pre-insulated vinyl siding on display and thought Champion would offer the product. They didnt. As the work was being done, it became apparent to me that several of the crew had never installed siding before and were doing OJT on my house. I got the feeling that the installers were rushing my job because they had other larger ones. WITHOUT GOING INTO DETAIL, the attention to detail in finish work was below par. They left several mashed places in my gutters.Other trim was twisted and bulged. Some siding protruded out from other and metal covering around my garage was applied with "ripples" through it. That was the first job. The second one, I noticed at night when I turn my floods on, the side of my house looks all uneven. I have called and even sent emails with pictures to the man in charge of troubleshooting. No calls back and no email replies. I signed off on the work reluctantly figuring, I have a warranty so if I catch something later, no problem. Now I know better. The second round job was purchased in July with no one call (I had to persist) to tell me when I could expect installation. Finally, after putting half down and making three payments with no work done, a call was received to start the work "the day after the phone call". THAT WAS IN OCTOBER. They sent a man and wife free-lance team. I am least happy with lack of communication and follow through that puts me in the position of having to call periodically in an attempt to speak to someone who will respond in some positive way.

During installation, the installers caulked over the window weep holes, causing water to flow behind and into the walls beneath and around the windows. We purchased 5 Comfort 365 R glass windows from Champion Windows, which were installed in February, 2016. (Keep in mind that 2016 was a year of drought for our location.) In July, 2017, we noticed the wall beneath the windows had bubbled out and was wet. I called Champion, related the problem, and they scheduled someone to come check. When the serviceman arrived, he immediately found the problem. He stated that unfortunately, the installers had caulked over the weep holes, thereby forcing all of the water to drain into the walls and Champion Windows was clearly at fault for the damage to our home. He said he would inform the office and they would send their insurance adjuster out to take a look. After many, many calls, finally a contractor was found who said he knew how to repair 1937 old world plaster walls. Both the adjuster and contractor came at the same time to compare notes and look at the damage. The adjuster sent someone to evaluate how much water/moisture was still in the walls, which he related to . We received a repair price from *** for an estimate of $1,275 on September 2, 2017, not including replacement of any wood or insulation which has been damaged. The walls will need to be cut out in order to see just how much structure damage has been done. On September 3, *** submitted $753.40 for the claim and nothing was included for additional damage to the wood and insulation. , the insurance carrier, did say that if something was found, that would be discussed later. *** said it would only take one trip because "fast dry" plaster could be used. Mr. stated that "fast dry" plaster could not be used, because reproducing the old world plaster was not a quick fix. We have since had numerous phone calls to and from , Champion's Insurance carrier, as well as a phone call to the General Manager at Champion. This call took place about a month ago, where he stated he would have the CEO call us with a resolution the next day. We are still waiting on that call! On 10/6/2017, *** increased their offer to $897.20, still short of the repair cost. We were even told by the adjuster at , "You need to just file this on your insurance."! Amazing!!! Today is October 26th, 2017, and we still have not heard from either *** or , or anyone at Champion Windows regarding closure on this matter. Three months have passed! It seems to us, that Champion Windows would and should be interested in resolving this issue in a timely manner, but apparently this isn't the case! We feel like we have been more than patient on resolving this problem!

Desired Outcome

We are seeking complete repair/restoration to the wall beneath and around the windows due to damage caused by incorrect installation of new windows by Champion Window installers. This includes: inside the wall to replace any and all damaged wood and insulation, damaged walls, baseboard and window frames, as well as restore and match with the same or better materials, the existing old world style plaster and finally to repaint the room.

Champion Window Company of Chattanooga Response

We have been in contact with the *** and their service issue has already been resolved. The issue they are having is the claim value between their contractor and the insurance company. Unfortunately the insurance agent determines claim value not Champion. I do believe this may have already been resolved between the *** and *** insurance company.
