Called business Spoke with Meredith H[redacted] she stated that a contractor was scheduled to come out before the complaint was filed. That there must have been some miss communication between the property and the resident. Meredith stated that the contractor came out on March 16, 2017 and fixed the...

Review: My move out date of 8/17/2013 was given to this apartment complex 60 days out as asked for in the lease. When I went to pay my rent online on 8/1/2013, as I was out of state, I noticed that the online balance is the full amount for the month of August. I called the office on 8/1, and I was told by an employee there that [redacted] was out of office 8/1 & 8/2, and would not be back until 8/5. Nothing could be done to reflect the prorated amount on account online until she returned 8/5, same day that the rent was due. On Monday 8/5, they acknowledged that the amount is wrong for my online account, and give me a prorated amount that I need to pay. However, their system is unable to take partial payments and they claim that they cannot update the right amount for my online account. On 8/5, I overnight-ed the prorated amount to their office, which they said would be fine, understanding the situation. This cost me $20 at [redacted]. I'm in GA, no way I could bring them a check. I call and get confirmation that the check did arrive on 8/6 but a late fee is accessed on my account. On 8/17 ,move out day, I was told when handing over my keys that I would not be charged this late fee of $77.40. My online account was still reflecting the full amount of the rent minus the prorated amount that I had mailed in, plus this late fee. On Monday 8/19, I was locked out of my account. I received a check for the apartment complex for 59.23 on 10/3/2013. This final check was my deposit I put down ($200) minus the last two water bills of amounts totaling $63.37. I come to find that I have also been charged this $77.40 late fee along with the $63.37. When I called the office today 10/9/2013, they told me that the account has been closed and nothing can be done. As a resident here, I always paid my rent on time, never had any issues, and left the apartment clean for them upon move out. Also, my dresser was destroyed in the apt due to flooding while I was away, and my balcony chairs were stolen off my patio, things I just brushed off and didn't worry about. All I would like to do is get my $77.40 in a check that was stolen from my final deposit.Desired Settlement: Check for $77.40 to be mailed out to me.

Response:

I got a response from Champion's Club Apartments regarding complaint ID [redacted]. They have sent the request to their corporate accounts to have a Check for $77.40 to be mailed out to me for my late deposit. I'll advise as soon as the check in received, thanks!
