Review: Please file my complaint re this gym. The owner is a liar, a cheat and is discriminatory. Liar: He has a large sign on his gym that states NO CONTRACTS (see enclosed pic). He also uses NO CONTRACTS in his ads and coupons (enclosed). But when I joined in February of 2010 1 had to sign a "Membership Application" which is actually a CONTRACT! (Copy enclosed . . . see the word contract right above my signature.) Cheat: The contract is worded all in the gym's favor; I paid $186 for the year and started attending in February. I always take a plastic bottle of water with me whenever I work out. On October 18 [redacted] decided to boot me out of the gym for bringing my own water. See paragraph six on the back of the contract. I don't know why he waited that long to kick me out? And I did not receive any refund for the remainder of the year. Discriminatory: The day he kicked me out for bringing in water, there was another member riding a stationary bike and he had a bottle of water with him. I pointed this out to Mr. Minardo and he said, "That's O.K.!" (Different rules for different members.)Desired Settlement: See Complaint Text

I am rejecting this response because:

All gyms should allow water bottles as long as they are plastic and will not break! It is safer and better than drinking out of Champions dirty fountain. Other parts of that gym are also dirty and not kept up. But because I brought my own water and would not BUY there lousy drinks, they kicked me out and did not give me a refund of any kind

Review: Reason for termination: "To much negative energy". Owner Hank creates a separate set of rules for certain singled out members, that all the other members do not have to go by. Eventually the members that are being singled out start to show dissension, he calls it negative energy. Rarely does the man show a smile to his paying customers. He also has a high employee turn around which I can only guess is due to his attitude. Also it has been well known around the club of many past members whom either quit or were also were singled out and terminated.Desired Settlement: See Complaint Text
