Chan Real Estate

Review: Chan Real Estate owns many homes in Oakland, near the University of Pittsburgh campus. My daughter rented a home while a student and vacated at the end of the lease. Chan Real Estate has refused to refund most of the security deposit of $1550 for no cause. They have fabricated unpaid rent and water bills as well as charges that are unsubstantiated. We have documentation showing a clear inspection done by their own inspector, yet six weeks after the end of the lease they are still holding the deposit and suddenly there are new charges. The lease finished on July 28, 2015 and in September there are new claims of unpaid rent and unpaid water bills from 2014. Chan Real Estate is fraudulently retaining money paid and unable to provide proof. The deposit was to be refunded by August 28, 2015. While tenants they are unresponsive landlords and the home is a cosmetic eyesore without adequate exterior lighting or maintenance.Desired Settlement: refund of security deposit
