Did not provide a copy of signed agreement. Did not verbally inform of the necessity to pickup deposit in person. Seems like motel hopes guests don't read fine print so everyone will forfeit deposits. It's not all that common for guests to actually checkout at motels/hotels.

Hello,By periodically training our Front Desk, we state to all guests to read the registration card prior to signing. As with all documents, we hope that person reads and understands the document and statements it contains prior to signing and accepting the terms.  We accommodate many guests each evening and we refund deposits promptly upon check out for many years at this location. As you may be aware that not all hotels have the same rules and policy. It is the responsibility of the guest to acknowledge and abide by them. Some hotels don't charge a deposit and thus guests not need to come to the front desk upon check out. Some do charge deposits and per their computers and systems require guests to be present upon check out. Again, we apologize if you were not able to be present upon your check out to pick up your deposit.
