I have been a customer of Chandler West Auto for ten yearsI trust them completelyTheir estimates are always accurate, and if they find a repair need beyond what was expected, they always call before doing the workOften they have suggested less expensive repair plans when they can be done safelyOn one occasion, I have an older truck that need to be emission testedIt flunkedThey spent hours finding the problem but kept the price at the promised levelI recommend them to all, including my daughter, granddaughter and mom

I took my 1989 Buick Reatta to Chandler West Auto on a friends recommendation. [redacted], the manager stated they could fix the brakes which are a Teves Brake System. While my car was there, just over a month, my friend and I stopped by the shop to check on the status of the brake job as this job required parts from a donor car. I noticed that my car was left unlocked in the back of the shop with the windows down. I also noticed that the passenger side mirror unit had been broken and and the shop had attempted to fix it with a sloppy glue job. We brought this issue to the manager, [redacted]'s attention. He went back into the work area, and upon his return, stated that my car had been backed into a lift and he would replace it. The brake job was completed and I picked up my car as this is the only vehicle I have and the shop had already had it for at least a month. [redacted] said he'd be in touch when the mirror came in.
Several weeks went by and no word on the mirror. My friend called the shop and [redacted] said "he forgot about the mirror" as he was so busy and would see if his contact in Tuscon had the part. My friend then got a call from [redacted] by accident. [redacted] thought he was calling his contact [redacted] in Tuscon. [redacted] said, "hi [redacted], I have a junky Reatta that I need a mirror for". My friend replied, "This is [redacted], not [redacted]" and [redacted] tried to "joke his way" out of the comment.
The mirror still hadn't arrived and my car would not pass emissions, so my friend said he would help me finacially if I took my car back to Chandler West Auto as "they are in the business of getting cars to pass emissions". I told him I wanted to go to another shop, but he said to give this shop another chance and they needed to install the mirror anyway. We took my car back and [redacted] said he would need to remove the passenger side door panel to see how many plugs the mirror had. I asked him if he could check the window out as it would not roll down all the way. When I picked up my car, [redacted] stated they had to "glue" one of the panels on the door as the tips were broken. When I looked at the door, there were parts missing and my window tint had a hole in it. I went back into the shop to inform [redacted] there was a problem and [redacted] sent out the "mechanic" who worked on my car. The mechanic just shrugged his shoulders. [redacted] did not come out to look at the car.
I went back into the shop and [redacted] said they put back all the parts they took off and he wasn't responsible for anything but the mirror. He said the shop replaced the window motor and all the parts they removed were installed back on the car. Period.
I got home and noticed a screw on the passenger side floor so I opened up my ashtray to put the screw inside and my lighter had been removed and was missing. I called [redacted] back to tell him this and he said to me "you need to take pictures next time and no one removed the lighter and besides it probably didn't work anyway". I replied I have never had to take pictures before when dropping my car for repairs as I have never had this type of problem with a shop before". He told me "he could not be responsible for things missing from my car". My response to that was "yours is the only shop that I've taken my car to that came back damaged and with less parts than it had when I dropped it off".
[redacted] said he has done nothing but try to help me. I told him "you are not in the business to help people, you are in the business to make money, so don't try to cover up your shoddy work with words". I then said "you may think my car is a piece of junk, but I am trying to keep my car as original as possible". [redacted] said "I don't think your car is a piece of junk". I then asked. "so you're saying you didn't call [redacted] by mistake and made the statement about my "junky Reatta" when you thought you were speaking to [redacted] in Tuscon? Are you calling my friend a liar"? [redacted] then said he didn't have time for this and I replied "and I do"? [redacted] then said he was hanging up and did so.
My car does not lock properly on the passenger side. I discovered this last night. However, I do not plan on taking my car anywhere near this shop again. My friend is supposed to be dropping off his truck again because it was not repaired properly the 1st time. I told him I would not help him drop off his vehicle as I have learned my lesson. 1st time shame on you, second time shame on me. Needless to say. there will be no third time for me.
I know I will not be getting any replacements for the last broken/damaged and missing parts from my last repair from Chandler West Auto. I just don't want anyone else going through this type of experience, especially other females or elderly people.
I spent approximately $1400 on repairs with this shop. To be told "I should take pictures of my car before dropping it off" and "every part we took off was put back on" and knowing this to be a lie because they would not have had to "glue" my part back on my door panel shows this shop does not practice good customer service and shows a total lack of respect from the manager. [redacted] would not even come out to my car to see what the problems were.
[redacted], was willing enough to take my money, but after that, his actions showed he will not take responsibility for his shops shoddy work. [redacted], my friend, told me that [redacted] called him after my conversation with him and said "get her off my back".
I am 60 years old and have had many repairs done on my many vehicles. This was the worst experience I have ever encountered and will tell anyone who will listen to avoid Chandler West Auto. They do not stand behind their mistakes.
