My car was towed illegally from my residence of 4 years and the this towing company claims that I authorized this tow. I did not authorize this tow.My car was towed without my consent at 1 am on 06/19/14. The paperwork from the tow company states that I authorized this tow and has my phone number and name listed. I never authorized this company to tow my car.I have lived in this complex for 4 years and my car has been on the lease for 4 years, there was no reason for my car to be towed. Chandler's towing parking lot sign states unauthorized cars will be towed, my car is authorized due to my lease of 4 years. The paperwork I received from the tow company also said "no permit" the sign in the parking lot says nothing about a permit being required. It simply states unauthorized and illegally parked cars will be towed, my car did not fit either one of those categories and yet they towed my car and tried to claim I allowed them to. I never had any conversation allowing my car to be towed and had to pay $100.00 to get my car back. This company needs to refund my money as this was a not a legal or proper tow. I have all my lease documentation showing that my car is in fact, allowed on the property and the tow company's signage of the property does not require a permit as they listed on the paperwork I received from them in order to get my car back.Desired SettlementI paid $100.00 to get my stolen car back, and I want my money refunded.Business Response Need vehicle information before we can respond to complaint... YEAR,MAKE,MODEL,VIN#,TAG#..we towa lot of cars, we need this info in order to pullour copy of tow.

Lucrative and illegal booting and towing practices. Stalking/predatory practices with improper or no parking signage on private property.Parked car in private lot for 5 minutes while running into restaurant to pick up food. Never was further than 50 yards from car. Occurred during heavy rain which obscured paint markings on ground, no sign was visible from inside car. Returned to car to find boot. Chandlers towing had been watching and waiting to cash in on the next customers mistake. Asked wrecker driver for exception given short period of time from leaving car to boot, as well improper signage. Driver mumbled while smoking something, then demanded payment or tow. Without having money available the car was towed. Wrecker driver then aggressively reversed towards car to prevent me from driving away. Driver did not permit me to remove items from car prior to taking it away.Desired SettlementI want my money back but most of all I want the city of Durham to investigate the unregulated business practices of these two truck companies. They operate an extremely lucrative business. Business Response 8/12/14Consumer needs to furnish vehicle information, date of tow and place where vehicle was towed from.Thank YouChandler's Towing

This business is in the predatory towing business. They have towed my car 3 times from my neighborhood. I was out of town for the past week, my friend left her car in my neighborhood and I REQUESTED A GUEST PASS FROM THE RENTAL OFFICE WHICH THEY GAVE TO ME. I PUT THE GUEST PARKING PASS IN THE CAR. THIS TOWING COMPANY TOWED MY CAR. They are always there. This the 2nd time towed one of my cars. When I called them to ask why they towed a car with a parking pass they said that it wasn't there that "perhaps it fell". THOUGH THIS IS NOT TRUE. I LEFT ON THE CAR. I WAS NOT NOTIFIED I WAS OUT OF THE STATE AND I JUST GOT BACK TODAY 12-29-15 TO FIND MY GUEST'S PARKING PASS HOLDING CAR TOWED.Desired SettlementI WANT A FULL REFUND OF $437 TOWING AND STORAGE CHARGES THEY ARE CHARGING ME.

These guys have towed away my car from the apartment complex where the numbers are not visible properly. they towed away my car and didnt inform the corresponding police. iwas just searching for my car after some time I got informed that my car was towed. I called company and he is demanding 250$ to give my car. it was snowing and I called him and went to collect car 15 miles from my house then he says there is no power he will not give my car. I went in cab and it cost me 100$ to go and come back. there are no proper displays that I should not park the car there. and still the guy is demanding 250$ to give my car back. this is just robbing the people and no is doing any thing.Desired Settlementi lost one day work because of these guys. I have no power in my house and I have a kid and there is no food in my house also. I have to take a cab to collect the car but still I am not able to get car. I need all ther refund 250$ + 100$ + 1000$ damages fees for all my sufferingsBusiness Response Attached is a PDF copy of the impound ticket for the vehicle towed from [redacted] ([redacted]).To Whom It May Concern:Chandlers has authorization from [redacted] to tow anyone who is parked in a reserve space, in this case Mr. [redacted] was parked in Space # ** which is reserved for their tenant. All reserved spaces are clearly marked. Anyone who is not a tenant must park in a vistors space. Please click on the link below to view impound invoice and pictures of illegally park vehicle.Thank You,Chandlers Tire Auto & Towing LLC

Predatorial con artists running a scam job. They towed my car, which was licensed to be at my [redacted] complex, while it was in the visitor parking area. Cars spend MONTHS parked without a pass and they decided last night was the one night they wanted to actually do their jobs and tow someone, and they picked someone who actually was on file there. Their promotional photos are completely rigged, half of them are cars that belong to them or are in cohoots with their apartment complex scam jobs. They are so quick to take honest people's money it'll make your head spin. Two stars since they were at least quick and painless in robbing me of my 250 dollars. A racket, and they should be ashamed of themselves.","neg-1

Placed boot on car at [redacted] apartment parking garage, where there is insufficient signage denoting locations of acceptable guest parking. On the evening of Thurs. 7/24, I parked my car (license [redacted] in the [redacted] at [redacted] parking garage while visiting a friend. At the entrance of the garage, a sign reads "Approved Visitor Parking on Top Floor Only". Nowhere in the garage are there further signs indicating where guest parking is permitted. Since the garage is designed with switchback ramps and flat levels, it is unclear what "top floor" means. I drove to the top of the garage, did not see any marked spots, and parked near the elevator.I returned to my car at approximately 11pm to find a immobilization device on the front left wheel. The device was in poor repair, including the rubber protective rim on the clamp peeling off leaving potentially damaging metal-on-metal contact with my wheel. A notice on my window instructed me to call Chandlers Towing at XXX-XXX-XXXX to have it removed. When the Chandlers Towing truck arrived, driven by a man identifying himself as [redacted], he said that I was illegally parked, that guests must park on "Floor 7, and we don't check Floor 6 1/2". He did not identify which floor I was parked on, or where Floor 6 1/2 began, and corroborated that there are no signs indicating where to park. I indicated that insufficient information was provided for me to park where permitted, and he replied that signs and instructions were not his responsibility.Desired Settlement$120 refundChange in business practices - no booting cars in unlabeled parking spots/zones.Business Response All visitor's must park in a visitors space or on the 7th floor-all tenants know the parking rules.Copy of Parking Rules and pictures of vehicle attached in this e-mailThank you,Chandler's TowingConsumer Response The Parking Rules provided by Chandler's Towing are not readily available to guests. Relying on tenants to provide parking instructions as an justification for misleading and absent signs posted on the property is a poor excuse for these predatory, no-complaint booting practices. Signs on the garage should be changed to read "parking on 7th floor" rather than top floor, which floor angled ramp sections of the garage belong to should be clearly marked, and "Visitor Parking" indicated for appropriate spots.
