Review: This company was issued a check on my behalf in error from a charity organization. Chantior was fully aware that did not lease any apartment to me and cashed the check after they was informed the check went to them in an error. They were asked to refund the check immediately in which they claim they would have to wait 2 days for it to clear their account which would have been a Tuesday or Wednesday. Friday they still have not issued a check back to the charity and the owner refused to answer my phone calls. I have been getting the run around since this time and lost out on another apartment due to Chantior refunding the money promptly. As of this time the money has not reached the charity and the owner of Chantior claims he sent out on a Saturday in which today is Wednesday a whole week later within the New York state and as of yet reached the charity. Their professionalism is disgusting and should be investigated for the listing that they offer any client since it seems no one is good enough for any apartment they advertisement but your money is good for them to pocket. I do not understand again why they would cash a check they are fully aware they did no work for.Desired Settlement: I want the $3300 refunded immediately back to the charity company as promised over a week ago or I will be forced to take higher steps.

Review: On 10/**/2013 I contacted one of the brokers with the company ([redacted]) to see an apartment. We made an appointment to view the appointment the same day. After I viewed the apartment I decided I would take it if the landlord would have me. After [redacted] and I went to her real estate agency to file the paperwork. Upon doing so

I was informed I had to make a deposit of $500 to take the apartment off the market, so that it would be reserved for me. I made a $500 payment to the business Chantior Real Estate right away via [redacted]. I was informed that this deposit would be returned if the landlord did not accept me for any reason. Unfortunately the landlord did not accept me as a tenant. On 10/27/2013 I told [redacted] she could process the refund if I did not get accepted. I asked her on several occasions prior to viewing the apartment and would get no response. On 10/**/2013 I was informed I did not get the apartment and was provided the reason as to why. On 11/*/2013 I requested a refund that was guaranteed to me if the landlord denied my tenancy. I was informed it would take a couple days to process. I was later informed the refund was cancelled because she thought I still needed the services since I hadn't found another apt yet. I was not upset and told her that's fine. On 11/*/2013 I asked for my refund again, because I found another apartment and realized they were not reliable. No one had been in contact with me about anything unless I asked and asked. When I would inquire about my refund I was told she had to speak to with the main broker ([redacted]). After going back and forth through a middle man I decided to contact [redacted] directly. When I initially made the [redacted] payment I made the payment to him ( or at least his name was on the receipt [redacted] had given me) I emailed [redacted] on 11/**/2013 and he told me he would refund the money first thing Friday (which was the next day). On 11/**/2013 I reminded him to process the refund and he contacted me back on 11/**/2013 apologizing for the delay. On 11/**/2013 I got a notification from [redacted] stating the refund has been initiated and it takes 3-5 business days. The next notification I got was from [redacted] stating [redacted]s' bank declined the payment and they would try the process in 3 business days. Since the [redacted] of November I have been trying to contact [redacted] to see what's going on and I have got no response. I am very frustrated with the business and I would just like my money back.Desired Settlement: $500

Response:

[redacted] submitted an application for an apartment that was later denied due to credit issues. She had initially deposit $500 via [redacted] in order to take the apartment off the market. Upon submitting a refund to her through [redacted] there was a slight delay. Rather than refunding her directly from the [redacted] balance, [redacted] requested an electronic check from a backup account assigned to my [redacted] account. That account denied the request and further delayed the refund which may have inconvenienced the customer. I personally called and apologized for the delayed. [redacted] was refunded within seven days from the initial time the refund was processed.

Review: On November **,2014 I visited a 3 bed room at [redacted] with a saleperson, name [redacted] from Cantor Real Estate, met with a female whom I was told is the [redacted]. My female companion and I liked the apartment,so we were asked to produced the necessary documents, which I did promtly. I asked , can we get in the apartment by the first of December? Since it has not much to get the apartment ready. I was told by the agent [redacted] that I had to wait on the [redacted] to review our documents and from what he heard, heard he believed the apartment his owers. On November **, 2014 all documents was produce, plus one month security of $1,700.00 which the agent requested and was paid with a cashier's check. This time I was told that the [redacted] died, so they having some delays.I then called the agent, [redacted] whom told me they could not give me a lease at this time because it would be null and void. At this time I realize the lady in met at the apartment the first time was not the [redacted], but the building managers. I was also told by [redacted] with supporting argument from [redacted], the sale person that the property managers (husband and wife) in the process of buying the property, so if I am willing to wait for two weeks starting from December **,2014, I should send her a text message stating that, so I did including an additional week. On December **,2014 I was called by [redacted] to meet with the propose new [redacted] (husband) and the agent at the apartmet,so we met and after a second visit and reviewed, I asked if they were ready this time, but was told by the agent, [redacted] it was just a meeting to get familiar with the [redacted], but yet the apartment is not ready yet because the have not did the closinget for the purchase, but hopefully they will soon. On January **,2015 I email [redacted] and text [redacted] that I wish not to wait any longer, because they cannot tell me when the property managers going to close,so how longer should I wait and I wish not to wait any longer, so I need my full refund of $1700.00 by January **,2015. I was then told by [redacted] to pick up the check on friday that same week.showed up at his office, then was told by him there is is a 10% deduction because I back out of the deal. I asked, what deal ? I did not sign a lease and I waited patiently for so long and you have not given me a date to move in, and you can't tell when the couple going to close on the property. I need my full refund. Presently I still not receI've my refund. Please address this complaint promptly! Need to move soonest. Thanks for the service!
