has done a lot of yard work for me over the past 2 or 3 years. The work was well done and the price reasonable. He never seemed to have operating capital, however, so I paid him upfront for necessary materials.

Early in July, 2018, I arranged with him to do the following yard work for me: re-sod a damaged area of my lawn, lay bricks along the front of the foundation beds in front of the house, and repair the front step. He agreed to do this and said he would bring me an estimate in a few days and that he could do the work on July 9 or 10. I didn't hear from him again until July 21. I had tried phoning him but there was no answer and no message machine.

On July 21, he came by and asked for a cheque to buy needed materials. I gave him a cheque for $1200. I trusted him because of previous experience. He said he would go to *** and cash it immediately, then buy the materials, and do the work on July 23 or 24th. He cashed the cheque but I haven't seen him since. He told me that he had moved to Regina and lived on Pasqua St. He doesn't answer his phone and I can't locate him.
