Ignore phone calls and other requests
Wrecked both a family members condos and refused to fix them, they had to reason to wreck them, except they wanted her out of the condos she owned outright and rented out,she is a older lady and has to go to court to get them fixed,we never get no answers from them,no phone calls returned even though they say they will,to try to work out a court case before it goes to court, and not one financial report ever sent out, horrible, incompetent company.

Complaint[redacted]My wife and I, owners of the condo managed by Charan Properties, signed a contract to sell the condo through [redacted], owner of Charan Properties/ [redacted] realtor on July 31st, 2014. Before the signing of the contract, she promised that the water leakage marks on the ceiling of our condo would be painted and the roof would be looked into as she said that "the first two weeks are really crucial for a home sale" and we pay a monthly condo fees of $145 to Charan Properties. The request for fixing this was actually made on July 19th, 2014. It has been three weeks since the signing of the contract, and it still has not been repaired. Secondly, [redacted] listed our condo for sale upon repeated requests 1 week and 1 day after we signed the contract on August 8th, 2014. Also, [redacted] had removed the "for sale" sign before she even listed the condo without notifying us, and she never put up her own "for sale" sign on our condo. Also, there is no realtor's lock on our condo. Another thing is that when I went to check up on my condo on August 16th, 2014, I found the sale listing literature for a competing condo in the same complex priced at a lower price on my kitchen counter. Now, when I tell her that I want to cancel the contract, she is saying that I either have to rent my condo through her, or I have to pay for the photos she has on [redacted]. Cancelling the contract is not my choice, but a compulsion due to the circumstances that [redacted] has created, and I should not have to pay for anything more than what I already have [redacted] Desired SettlementI do not want to be charged for photos of the condo or any other charge for cancelling the condo sale contract. Also, I want the roof to be fixed as well as the ceiling to be painted as soon as possible so that I can sell my condo. This maintenance is covered by my condo fees, and it should be done in time so that I do not have bear the consequences of an unsold condo with a monthly fees.Business Response In response. This client asked for my services and in good faith I entered into a contract for sale. I paid a professional photographer $125.00 to take photos. In the contract the customer pays a commission when the property sells. All costs for marketing the property are the Realtors. The client did not have his wife sign the all the paper work which delayed the processing of his [redacted] listing twice it was returned from our [redacted] board for extra initials. I did not delay the processing of this listing.Secondly, the work order for painting was submitted. I understand the owner was contacted by the sub contractor to enter the suite. The owner could not accomodate the time to let them in. The painter did not contact him since. The matter of fact is I did my job. The painter did their job, by calling. This owner broke a contract and cost me money that I surely did not need to spend on photos. [redacted] Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Even after 3 weeks of signing the contract between [redacted] (Realtor,[redacted]) and ourselves ([redacted]) a for sale sign was not put-up in our condo. Instead when we visited our condo 3 weeks later we were surprised to find competetior sale information in our condo at an undercut price. In good faith we had signed the contract first and given the condo key to [redacted] even before the contract was signed so she could get photography done as well as get the condo prepared for sale by taking care of the leakage from the roof. Since [redacted] had the keys to the Condo and I was working in Calgary there was no point in asking the roof repair person to contact us for the keys and he was supposed to get the keys from her. The walls and roof are insured by the Condo management and it is their duty to get it fixed. Now I am in a bind as I cannot sell my condo until the condo management has got the roof repair work done. Also at the time of taking photographs for the condo, we were not told that there would be $125 cost for taking digital pictures. It has been over 2 months since I contacted [redacted] with these Issues and we checked that there are new rainwater drip spots on the condo bedroom ceiling indicating that the roof has not been repaired. I need these issues resolved (roof repair and paint to the ceiling) so I can sell my condo. If the roof is not fixed and ceiling not painted within 2 weeks from today, I am going to get it fixed myself and present the bill of repair to Charan Properties management.

Ceiling Damage under warranty. Charan was supposed to send someone to fix it. It's now been 9 months of waiting. Voice mails and emails not returned. My ceiling was damaged in December 2013 from water due to improper installation of a vent in the attic before I moved in. I had water pouring in from my Smoke Alarms and multilple water stains on the ceiling, I called the "Emergency Contact" at Charan in January 2014, as it was dangerous to have water pouring over electric wires into my home, and have still not heard back from him to this day. [redacted] and [redacted] at Charan stated via email that someone was coming to fix my water stained ceiling in January 2014. They sent someone in April 2014 who did not complete the paint job so I asked them to send another painter to finish the job. Charan said that they would but no one has come to fix my ceiling since. I have phoned and emailed Charan several times. No one has ever returned my phone calls once. The email replies state that "someone should be coming and a work order has been made". I have asked for updates multiple times in the last 2 months and have not heard back since July 25th 2014. The July 25th email from [redacted] said "The work order was sent out and [redacted] the painter should have contacted you. I will give him a call and see what is going on." I have not heard back from anyone since... [redacted]Desired SettlementI would just like my ceiling fixed as it was under warranty at the time of the damage and I cannot seem to get a reply or phone call from anyone at Charan Property Management.
