Fishy bidding to drive up prices
Bid on an event to meet someone in the record industry and I made the mistake of putting in a large bid. With 10 seconds to go, a bidder with a bot like name put in a bid exactly 1000 over the winning bid. This adds 10 minutes to the auction. This happened repeatedly. This happened 3 times, almost doubling the price

Word to the wise, I would NEVER use Charitybuzz! They did not fulfill my reward and then the company providing the reward decided they did not want to participate anymore. All they can give me is a gift certificate for $300 on a lot over $1,500 (not sure how they think this will help me) and a charity donation letter dating 2016...we are now in 2018. I asked them how I would get a tax refund, they said "We are not accountants, ask yours". No respect shown.

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Charity Buzz regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been...

resolved because: I was contacted on 03/**/14 by [redacted], who informed me that a check would be forwarded to me via mail. I'm currently awaiting confirmation that indeed a check would me mailed to me. I will keep you abreast on any updates. Thank you.[Your Answer Here]

Review: I bid a won multiple auctions on CharityBuzz. After receiving several of the items, I had them appraised for insurance purposes. When the appraiser reports came back telling me that the items were worth less than 50% of auction stated value, I notified CharityBuzz and their management of this and asked for an explanation. At first that said that they would look into it, and I continued to do business with them. After months of excuses on the values of items offered, I was told that CharityBuzz was aware that values stated in auctions were inaccurate and that they had since hired in-house estimators to value future items. But they could do nothing about what was already purchased.

Also, at least two items that I purchased were to come with documentation to provide authenticity and ownership, but after receiving the items I never received the documentation. When I continued to complain, they said they had sent out the documentation on some of the items and which I never received. After repeated discussions with various managers and personnel of CharityBuzz, I told them that I would hold back all further item payments until I got some answers.

After over a year of continued complaints and nothing received, they said that they could not get the documentation on one item, and I sent it back to them as I was through waiting. They immediately put it back up for auction(with a value of much less than it was when I bid on it) with the same statement of documentation to be provided. I called them and asked if they had gotten the documentation for the item and they said no they had not. I asked how they could auction the item again if they still have no documentation, and the manager said that she didn't know, and she would look into it. I later received an email saying that they would send a check or wire to refund the item returned, but it has never materialized, even after my sending more emails that they have never responded to. I have all emails.Desired Settlement: I want a complete refund of all items purchased.

Review: On 11/**/13, I purchase Lot #[redacted]( Hawaii Resort 2 bedroom villa package trip), I immediately contacted the representative, [redacted], who was to assist me in scheduling a vacation date. Unfortunately what was advertised on the Lot was never available, despite providing 3 weeks and even selecting 2 weeks, which was provided by the representative, [redacted]. [redacted], current employee of CharityBuzz and [redacted], former employee of CharityBuzz made meager attempts in assisting me with this matter, therefore with much displeasure I decided to cancel and request a refund. Despite my refund request, I continue to receive several run-around from CharityBuzz.

On numerous correspondence with CharityBuzz, I explained on how I would have not made a purchase if they advertise studios rentals. What entice my purchase was the 2-Bedroom Villa advertisement. [redacted]

After several month email and phone correspondence, I was most disturbingly was informed on how I would not be guaranteed my full refund. CharityBuzz want to re-list the Lot #[redacted] and who ever purchase the package, which is a chance of it being less than my purchase price $3760.83, would be what I would be entitled to.

I am certainly not a gambling person and I am absolutely dumbfounded with there tactics.

I was anticipating this issue being resolve as professionally as possible, but would like your agency to be aware of there disreputable practices of CharityBuzz 'bait-n-switch'. Most disturbingly, this is not the agency first time, brief research, I was able to find this article [redacted]

I would much appreciate your assistance in this matter .

Thank youDesired Settlement: I would like my total refund of $3,760.83.

Review: I was the winner of a Charity Auction that took place January 2014 for a 2014 Toyota Corolla S Plus for $19,100.00. Upon seeing the car for the first time I was taken back that it was not the same car photographed in the auction. (I have photos of both if needed). I had spoken with a member of the Charity Buzz staff and after quite some time decided that yes indeed the car IS NOT the same and they will do some looking into and get back to me. The company decided that high end tint in NY/NJ area would run about $500.00 and I could get the car tinted, the $500.00 check that was mailed to me in JULY bounced for insufficient funds (Isn't there a fine for bouncing a check for this amount of money?) and when I emailed the representative, (last name [redacted]), when I learned this check bounced. [redacted] did not try to contact me to figure out what happened, so when I called the main number for the company I asked to speak with his boss whom is the [redacted] of Charity Buzz. After fancy words were said he stated that he would be in contact either the next day (Friday) or Monday, I never heard back from anyone and received a $500.00 and $29.00 checks. I had also in this time received an email from another Charity Buzz employee apologizing for the problems I have been having and despite the frustration to have a good weekend and that she would be in touch during the week. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday all came and went; I thought I'll call Friday and give her another shot for Thursday. I emailed this representative back about how again another person is "helping" me but not helping or even communicating with me and received an automated message that she was out of the office and will be back the following week. While I was on a much needed vacation I received a phone call from the [redacted] of the company mentioning tickets to an event near me and to contact him when I could. This week, the week starting September [redacted] I have spoken to the [redacted] twice on the phone explaining the situation, frustration and money paying out everyday since January ** 2014 and that it's being going on for far too long. I haven't even driven this/my brand new car because I'm trying to resolve issues regarding it; if I did drive it then they would surely not even consider taking it back, losing money everyday to keep it insured. I spoke with the [redacted] today and he offered me an experience, that to some may be priceless but as I explained to him, I don't want schmooze and fancy famous people, I just wanted the car in the auction that I won. This car isn't that one so I would just like my money back and the cost to have the car insured while sitting for 7 months while this gets worked out.

My complaints are:

Advertising Issue - An advertisement misrepresenting a product

Customer Service Issues - Failure to respond to phone calls or written requests for assistance or support. (Mainly being passed around from one to another or [redacted] never bothering to phone)

Product Issues - Product I purchased was defectiveDesired Settlement: A refund check for the total I paid for the car $19,100.00 and $2000.00 to cover the insurance, tags, title and fees paid.

Total amount requested $20,100.00

Review: I personally would not recommend CharityBuzz to anyone. On December **, 2014 our daughter won an auction to meet 5 Seconds of Summer. She was to meet 5 Seconds of Summer with two VIP tickets to an upcoming show of her choice in 2015. It was valid for two people, the meet and greet would be in a group setting, the winner could take a photo, and the winner could take something small to be signed. Our daughter chose Florida Sept **, 2015 their last US concert in 2015. On Sept **, 2015 we received an email with exact details telling us what to do. She was to meet a lady name Francesca at will call at 6:45 for the 7:15 meet and greet. We were to call Francesca if we could not find her. Since one parent was smart enough to realize this experience was not worth 4,250.00 per child she decided not to get the other ticket I was our daughter guest. Since it also states you can not resale the package we did not sell the other ticket out of fear of losing everything. We flew into Florida on Sept **, and checked into our hotel. We went to the venue on Sept **, 2015 and went to will call at 6:00 PM. We picked up our tickets at 6:35. We stood there at will waiting for Francesca until 6:45 and finally at 6:50 I called Francesca to see what was going on. We were told to only call her if we could not find her. When Francesca answered I was greeted by this angry voice asking me how did I get this number. I told her that my my daughter was the winner of a Charitybuzz auction and we were given the number in case we could not find her. She then goes on to say who gave me the number she wants to know right now. I said I received an email with her number in it and she wants a copy of the email right now. I send her the email, call several times and get no answer. Finally I proceed to call someone else in an attempt to claim my daughters prize. We missed the opening act and 10 minutes before 5 Seconds of Summer is due to go on stage we are escorted backstage. The guys are great and explain how they would have spent more time with my daughter but they have to go on stage in 10 minutes. When I ask Francesca about the small item that my daughter is supposedly allowed to bring and have autographed she says they signed a program and that's better. That's where we disagree because we each had a CD we wanted signed. She wanted to see them sign CD's for her she did not want to be handed a bag with a signed program in it, and what about the 2nd person. Supposedly a photographer was there and if that is true she missed out on quality pictures and ended up with cell phone grainy pictures even though my daughter had a camera with her. After the lousy seats, and terrible picture she said mom lets leave this is the worse meet and greet of my life. Summed up this was not an 8,500.00 experience and I would not recommend charity buzz to anyone for meet and greets. I strongly recommend buyers buy meet and greets from [redacted] if they are available. We spent a fortune on this charity crap trying to make our daughter's and someone else's dreams come true only to have our daughter's dream shattered in the end, Lousy treatment, lousy seats, missed the opening act, lousy pictures, unable to have items signed as stated I would not buy another meet and greet from this company no matter what. They list the value of 550.00 (the price on ticketmaster) meet and greets as 5,000.00 and the treatment is the same or worse than the 550.00 meet and greet that buyers can buy online. I did contact them and was told they would contact me weeks ago and I am still waiting on a resolution.Desired Settlement: A new meet and greet package where our daughter and guest will get to see the entire show, have pictures taken, and be able to bring a small items with them to have items autographed, or a partial refund since we missed part of the concert, and we were unable to have items autographed as listed.
