We are in receipt of and have reviewed the documentation submitted on the above-referenced matter. According to the claim presented by [redacted] they allege that your employees damaged several items in a move.
According to the signed shipping documents, the...
valuation section reads: “the agreed or declared value of the property is hereby specifically stated by the customer (shipper) and confirmed by their signature hereon to be not exceeding 60 cents per pound per article unless specifically accepted. The customer (shipper) hereby declares valuation in excess of the above limits on the following articles…”
The customer did not write anything in this valuation section nor was there any other document declaring value of her articles. There was no additional insurance purchased by the customer either.
Based upon this information, the amount that you legally owe is 60 cents per pound per article. While we do not have an exact weight of the damaged items, we have generously estimated the weight of the goods claimed at 412 lbs. This would make your legal liability only $247.20, which is well under your $1000 policy deductible.
Pursuant to the above, we are not able to proceed with the handling of this loss as it is under your deductible.
Please be advised, [redacted] reserves all of its rights under its policy(s). Any action taken by us or our agents to adjust, settle or litigate this matter cannot be deemed as a waiver of any of these rights. Should you have any questions or comments regarding this correspondence, please do not hesitate to contact our office at any time.
Review: I hired the company for my moving needs. My furniture and china that they packed is broken and damaged. I have been trying to resolve this issue with the company with no response. They do not respond to phone or email messages. I do not know what else to do. I have several pieces of furniture that was not properly pack that have scratch marks on them. I have cups and plates that was delivered broken in pieces. This company has no offered an apology or financial compensation.Desired Settlement: I like the company call me and offer their apology and for someone to come to my house and look at the damage and offer compensation for the damage that they caused my furniture and and china.
