I had a truck run out of fuel, it was towed to Charles Schmidt & Sons as they told me it needed more than just fuel Received a call that the truck would need several thousand dollars of repair from running out of gas Didn't believe this could be true, had it towed out of there and the truck started right up No mechanical issues at all Has been running great for weeks Would never use this business again -- total lack of ethics Overcharged for the tow as well!

It appears we are dealing with 2 people on this matter. The operator of the cycle and his brother who was not at the scene of the disablement. A flatbed operator must stand at the side of the flatbed when loading a unit in order to operate the controls, ie: winch. The only other way to transport a cycle is to have a lift gate pick up or hang it from a twin line wrecker, which can cause damage, that is how we transport collision damaged cycles. Again I ask the question , why do I reimburse a customer who never paid for service in the first place. As for the operator stating he would return, I think the brother who I spoke with twice by phone is stating that, not the operator at scene. We can say "he said she said" all day long but the core issue is I can not reimburse when no payment was made from the customer.

Review: My motorcycle broke down in remote area in Port Washington. Called for towing services to Charles Schmidt towing. A worker with a flat-bed tow vehicle arrived on site. I was directed by young man to help with Arranging the motorcycle in center of ramp that was set in upward 45 Degree angle. While securing the front wheel to metal steel that was bent , the motor cycle fell during the securing process to channel iron attached to wire cable . The Charles Schmidt worker said let 's disconnect the securing devise and he would go to shop and get a better Motorcycle towing vehicle. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

There is a feeling on my part that the proper service was not provided at Port Washington break down of a Kawasaki motorcycle . The operator of the tow truck did not do a proper job of loading the motorcycle . On his own decision he halted the proper loading of said motorcycle . During the loading procedure of the motorcycle after being secured to channel iron connected to steel wire rope that was connected to a power wench halted after the motorcycle fell . The picking up of the motorcycle was attempted to be done while the strap was still tied down to flat bed . He said the proper truck for the motorcycle was needed . then all was disconnected and he drove back to the shop . This was not done professionally . The fact that a poor attempt was made and failed by the operator and no one else . The tow company did not charge because they did not want to be credited for doing wrong . The correct job was done by Kick Start Fabrication by himself with no help from the driver of the motorcycle . The not charging a fee in their eyes put them out of the picture . I want them credited for doing an improper attempt and leaving .
