In January 2014, I hired Charles Stanley, said he is a licensed contractor (license # 834923) to remodel my bathroom. In our contract, he stated that “….work will be completed in a substantial workman-like manner and work will be warranted for a period of 5 years.” After he finished the project, I found many bathroom problems related to his work. Two of the major problems were (1) a squeaking new tile floor and (2) a mis-positioned new toilet.
Since January 2014, I have contacted him many times either by phone or by meeting with him in person, requesting his return to fix the problems. Despite my repeated efforts trying to have him come back, he never showed up in my house again. Thus, I have no choice but to hire other contractor to fix his problems.
I found that he only hired minimum-waged workers with very little skills to do the work for him. Besides, he used false/misleading statements and deceptive advertising to lure customers. I have decided to file a complaint to Contractor License Board and to take legal actions against him.
If you are looking for a contractor to remodel your house, beware of this bad contractor. If you need more information about his work, you may contact me at 858-454-2689.
Review: I contracted verbally with Charles Stanley to replace a fence post for the sum of $100.00 plus costs. We initially agreed on May 27, 2014 that the work would be completed within a week. When nothing had been done by June 16, 2014, I telephoned Mr. Stanley who indicated they were busy but he would complete my project by June 20, 2014. The work still has not been commenced.Desired Settlement: Take care of my fence post as agreed.

Response:
I contracted verbally with Charles Stanley to replace a fence post for
the sum of $100.00 plus costs. We initially agreed on May 27, 2014 that
the work would be completed within a week. When nothing had been done
by June 16, 2014, I telephoned Mr. Stanley who indicated they were busy
but he would complete my project by June 20, 2014. The work still has
not been commenced.
In response to Mr [redacted] complaint,
First off no money for the said project has been exchanged. I am still extremely busy and did express that I would try to take care of him when I could and I did express that perhaps he should try to go with someone else.
I am sorry for the miss understanding and would gladly take care of his fence post as long as he will be there so that when the project is complete that I could then be paid.
Sincerely,
Charles Stanley
