Review: We wanted to have our entertainment room and bathroom painted, so we called Charley's Painting. Charley painted the main living rooms and halls in our house in 2008 and the work was satisfactory.

Charley was to remove the wallpaper in the bathroom, repair any plaster flaws, apply a coat of primer, two coats of finish paint and install a ceiling border. Charley said he would remove the wallpaper, fix the plaster and apply the primer and return the next day to apply the finish coats of paint. The border would be installed when he returned to paint the exterior of our house.

On 4/7/15 Charley completed our bathroom in one day except for the border. We looked at it briefly and closed the door to keep our pets away from the wet paint. We paid Charley in full even though the border was not installed because of our prior experience with Charley. The next day when we inspected his work we called him and related that the work was not satisfactory. He said he would return and correct the problems.

He returned and patched the flaws, however, there was very little improvement to our bathroom. We requested he refund our $55 for the border installation and give us some money to have someone else make the necessary repairs and install the border.

After many e-mails we finally received a check for $50 on 8/3/15 and no money to correct the faulty work. Charley promised to send us the $5 he shorted us but to this date we received nothing.

We also painted for the [redacted] in 2008 and they were very satisfied with our work. We completed the painting and after work was approved by Mr. Mrs [redacted] I received payment that day knowing when we would return to do work on out side of house I would install the border in bath room. Two weeks when by I received an Email from Mr. [redacted] to come back to look at some imperfections on a wall in bath room. I returned about one week later to take a look and make any repair needed. I returned with my employee Larry to resolve this matter Mr. [redacted] took us up to the bath room and showed us the problem area we could not see it very well so Mr. [redacted] went to get a flash light and show us what need repaired so we repaired the areas Mr. [redacted] showed us and also took care of a couple other small imperfections that was not shown to us. We made the repairs and repainted the wall . I then told Mr. [redacted] we were all finished and got the OK from Mr. [redacted] at witch time they asked I return the money for the border so I sent $50 back I was $5 short I did not relies the border border cost was $55 so I do owe the [redacted] $5 A few days went by and I sent the [redacted] an email and I told then I would not be doing the exterior of the house I don’t think it would be a good fit for the [redacted] or Charley's Painting. Two weeks went by and I got a email from Mr. [redacted] saying they were still not satisfied with our work after the repairs were made the work was OK but for some reason after two weeks it was not. 1/18/2016 Revdex.com of Western Pennsylvania. I reject the response from Charley. His solution is to return to me my own money!!!!!! Charley's response in not truthful. He knew very well that he was holding my money and I have the e-mails of proof. A reputable company would have returned money not do to them in a timely manner. Charley never addressed my request for funds so I could get someone to correct the faulty work he was not able to correct. It is hard to see the color white on a similar color of white especially in a small bathroom on an overcast day. With the aid of a flashlight it became obvious that both finished coats of paint missed a section of the wall. Summary of e-mails between Charley and myself. 3/30/15 Received estimate of work, 300 to paint bedroom, 125 to remove wallpaper, 250 to paint bathroom, 55 to install border. 4/07/15 Paid 730 for bedroom and bathroom. 4/08/15 Received estimate to power wash exterior of house. 4/10/15 Advised Charley that bathroom work was not satisfactory. 4/13/15 Charley wants to come 4/14 to correct work. 4/14/15 Not going to be home on 4/14. Charley will set up time next week. 4/23/15 Charley will come 4/24 after finishing another job. 5/03/14 Informed Charley that the work was not satisfactory and we are not going to have the power washing or the outside painting done by Charley's Painting. Requested he return our 55 dollars for the border and money for someone to correct the faulty work and finish our bathroom. 5/05/15 Charley will send a check and pick up his sign. 6/09/15 Did not receive a check. 7/06/15 Did not receive a check. 7/13/15 Charley out of town will send check when he returns. 8/10/15 Received a check for 50 dollars. Charley will send another check for shortage. 8/14/15 Charley will send another check. As of this date, I received no check or response from Charley since 8/14/15. Charley said there were small imperfections that he repaired. Well the following pictures show the truth. These pictures are not the best because of the small space in the bathroom and my picture phone does not focus very well at short lengths. All of these following pictures are after Charley returned to correct the work.

I went back in April to take care of the complaint Mr. Hartman showed me what needed repaired made the repairs and got the ok.I then got a email in May stating that he was not satisfied and to send the money back for the border.I sent the check in May and got a email in June saying that Mr. Hartman did not receive my check.I went back to my bank to see if the check was cashed and it was not so I stopped payment on the check and had to send a new one.Mr. Hartman receive the check for $50. I did not realized that the amount should have been for $55. So I am sending out the check today for $5.00.Thank you Charley

We did go back and repaired what was asked of us and Mr.Hartman gave us the OK for the repair. Few days went by and the repair was not good enough from what I see in the pics $25 should be morethan fair for if and any repair is neededThank You

I received a check from Charley for $5.00 not $10.00 as he stated. I reject his offer for $25.00 as it is an insult to my intelligence because that's probably the cost of the paint. I would be interested in the name of a company that will perform this work for $25.00 as Charley stated. I should not have had to contact the Revdex.com to get this matter resolved. As I said before, an upstanding company would have resolved this matter in a timely manner and not require a 3rd party. I would if I knew how, attach Charley's e-mails to the Revdex.com so all could read for themselves the truth. The Revdex.com should downgrade Charley's Painting rating because it is not A+. When I check out a company and the rating is A+, I do not always check the complaints as a rule and others may do the same.
