The collector item I purchased did not come with the factory box as advertised. They admitted to not sending the box and sent a random box. The collector value significantly decreases with a mismatched box. At my expense of $400 they would exchange but it is their mistake, not mine. I should not have to pay for their mistake. It was a switch and bait, selling me something different than what I purchased...

We are familiar with Mr. complaint, and we have answered him multiple times, and he has reached out to multiple forums and companies to make his grievance known.
Mr. purchased a deeply discounted rifle that was advertised as missing parts and "open box." In this case, it had no box. The box itself is a folded piece of cardboard, and it had been discarded. The missing box and a few small parts or attachments were the reason the product was discounted by $200 or so, from a retail price of $1,500, give or take.
We explained to him that the box with the serial number of his rifle had long been discarded, and sent to him an identical box. We were not obligated to do so, but as a gesture of goodwill, we wanted him to have a box. The box he had was of the same make and model of firearm, just not with the same serial number (of course).
Mind you, this transaction occurred roughly 18 months ago. Since then, he filed a fraud complaint with gunbroker.com, which is the online marketplace from which he purchased our rifle. We explained to gunbroker.com the same story that we are explaining to you, and offered to fully refund him for his firearm, assuming it had not been fired. Gunbroker.com took our offer to Mr. and found that we did not defraud him of anything.
Our offer still stands, that if Mr. is not happy with the rifle he has and the box we provided, We will pay for his shipping, and he can return the rifle to us for a full refund, subject to our inspection.
