Charlies Paving

Charlies Paving is a horrible company. I spent over $14,000 on a new driveway. The driveway is sinking into the ground and has cracking all over it. I have been complaining to Hester the office manager for a year with more than two dozen calls to her. She keeps promising me someone is going to come out and look at the driveway, but no one every call or comes. This company will take you money and damage your home. Stay far away from them. I will be getting my attorney involved now.

Due to a neighbor having his driveway done by said Charlie's Paving they came to us with a said "We have a brand new load of HOT asphalt we need to get rid of. Long story short after one guy (the basic spokesperson) said oh we got rid of that but have some reclaimed asphalt so after meeting with the main Charlie who knows he was laid back in the seat of his truck very lazy style and we talked about what all would be done etc etc to the drive and circle. We finally agreed on a price of $3000 which was to be 3" thick and pure reclaimed asphalt. They came in a Saturday with the equipment packer, dump.truck of MIXED dirt with some asphalt ! They swore it would be 3" thick as we kept questioning they assured us it would be. Well it is not and grasß is growing thru it 😠 so now we have a drive that's washing away due to mostly dirt. I would never ever recommend these people to anybody. Keep your $$$$ until you find a reputable person. We did have another party come by who saw the shabby work and could have fixed it but we had no funds left to do so ☹️ Stay away from this so called company

Review: this company was working down the street for a neighbor, they showed up at my house uninvited and tried to "give me a good deal" on asphalt they had to much of for another job and needed to get rid of it, first of all the neighbor already paid for this asphalt and now they wanted to charge me for it. I asked how much of my driveway could they pave with what they had over ordered, already charged my neighbor for, was going to be wasted, and was cold. they then told me approximately from my front walk to the top of my driveway which is around 150 feet long by 10 feet wide for a $2,600. I told them I needed to make a phone call to confirm with my mother before this all could happen, but before confirming this with them they not only laid asphalt where we discussed but past what we agreed upon with out my permission, when I asked what was going on here they became aggressive and hostile saying its to late we already put all this down and you have to pay. and originally we agreed upon $2,600 for a supposed amount of 100 yards of asphalt. which was not the truth at all, because a truck cant hold that much. But now they wanted $9000 for spreading a half full truck of asphalt over 3000 square feet at less then one inch thick. all while trying to pressure me into charging all this to credit card

1-they tried to charge us for a material that was already paid for by someone else, a little unethical especially since it was cold and laid less then one inch thick in most places

2-they performed work without authorization

3-they tried to intimidate me to EXTREMLY OVERPAY for there sub par job

4-they knowingly employee illegal aliens (tax evasion, taking jobs from honest taxpayers, and to boot not even paying the poor illegals a fair wage)?

5-failed to present us with any kind of insurance id or paperwork including work authorization forms with a signature upon request

6-inferior service and product

7-bait and switch tactics were used by the two brothers trying to intimidate meDesired Settlement: we will not pay for unauthorized services

we want the harassing, threatening, cursing, being called derogatory and offensive names by a so called business owner in phone calls to stop or we will press charges

we will seek expert advice and after further inspections by real professionals if they deem that they caused damage that needs to be corrected we will seek legal action from the courts to correct there mistake

we also want it to be known we are scared this lunatic might show up at our house I have a young family

Review: I have called the company a total of 8 time with in 2013 and 2014. I got one call back from [redacted] and she said she would get back to me about the paperwork I requested and she has not. After I talked to [redacted] I have called 7 more times with not response.Desired Settlement: I want them to call me back and set up a time for them to come to the house so we can show them the issues we are having with the driveway they paved in 2013. There is a 12 month guarantee on the paving.

Review: Charlie's Paving re-paved half of our driveway to fix cracks and over-paved the reminder to make the two surfaces even. Their work had 1-yr warranty. The cracks reappeared within 3 months and the over-paved surface has burn marks (from wrong equipment from day 1) and loose stones coming out causing holes in the driveway. They refuse to work with us to fix the issue despite multiple phone calls for the past 4 months.Desired Settlement: Fix the problem or refund our money
