Dear Revdex.com readers, please read
the entire replyIt is very important for you to understand that this review
is grossly inaccurate and inappropriateIf you would like to see proof of any
of this documentation feel free to call our office at ###-###-#### we would be
more than happy to provide any supporting documentation to our side.
Mr
*** was orginaly claiming that the approximate price of the move was
$7,We packed Mr*** on 5/6/and moved him on 5/7/The price of
the pack was $and the move was $1,for a total of $2,If
anybody would like to see the paid invoice we will be happy to provide proof of
actual cost
The day prior to the move Mr
and Mrs*** were provided, via fax, the release form that states what is
not covered by insurance, in which Mr*** signed and called Cheri stating
were he would leave the forms
The day after the move Mrs
*** called the office starting the conversation by saying “I know that
floors and windows and such are not covered by insurance but your guy’s
scratched our floor,” to which Cheri replied “did you or anyone else witness
that alleged occurrence?” Mrs*** replied “No”.
Cheri politely explained that
even if insurance did cover her floor the insurance she chose was $.60cents per
pound per articleWhich would mean the third party insurance would pay on the
weight of the plankMrs*** then started threatening Cheri that if she
didn’t pay for the damages she would write a bad review on *** ***Cheri
further tried to explain to Mrs*** that moving insurance is like any other
insuranceIf your homeowners policy doesn’t cover flood damage and your
basement floods you don’t get to call your insurance company and demand that
they pay anyway.
Please be aware that Mrs
*** had a multitude of subcontractors working in her new home as we were
trying to bring her furniture into her home(This is not an ideal
circumstance)Upon speaking with the general contractor Cheri asked him about
the possibility of it being one of his workers to which he responded, “there
not my workers, they are subcontractors and they were not working in that area
of the house.” Hmmmm???
After further threats Cheri
requested that Mrs*** get an estimate and provide photos and would submit
it to the insurance company and see what they would say trying to appease her
Cheri was never asked to come to her home to see anythingNor would it be
approiate for Cheri to do so since she is not a claims adjusterTo this day we
have never received any estimate or photos of any damage whatsoeverWe did
receive an invoice after the fact from her contractor for $1,to which he
stated he paid, not $3,Mrs*** has gone on numerous sites badmouthing

Dear Revdex.com readers, please be
advised that this complaint is unfair and grossly inaccurateCharming Movers has
numerous documents to prove its side of the storyAt anytime if anyone would
like to see any of the documentation all you need to do is call the office at
###-###-#### and the information will be provided
*** *** did not contract us
for a full service moveWe did a
partial pack and move, which is proved in the original estimate where we
estimated the pack to cost approximately $1,272.00-$1,dollars*** ***
only paid $for his packHe and his wife packed most of the house,
further corroborated by an email *** *** sent dated 7/3/*** *** stated,
“my wife and I packed most of the house to save time and money.” (The email
will be called Document A and the quote will be Document B)
In the same email *** ***
stated that he had to pay for the boxes and labor that took a half-hour to
complete for the said dresserPlease be aware that the packers only packed one
large dresser in the master bed bedroom, this was done for the safety of the
moveThe packers determined that it would be too difficult to move with the
dresser fullCharming Movers refunded $for the labor and materials as a
show of good faith not $We have a check to prove the additional monies
that were paid
As per the estimate provided
by *** *** to the insurance company the total cost for repair came to $
(we will call this Document C )not $1,*** *** fails to mention that
the insurance he chose was rated at $cents per lb per article. His signature on the contract indicates his
insurance choice(The contract we will call Document D)The monies that were
allocated to *** *** were a result of his insurance choice not because no one
wanted to call him
We have signed statements as
to the approximate weights from the men who carried the articles in addition to
the insurance company looking up fair market comparables to determine the
weight, as per the photographs provided by *** ***After *** *** provided
more information the weight was adjusted on one article and another check was
sent
Cheri never agreed to pay for
the missing boxShe advised *** *** to fill out the claim form and it would
be submitted to the insurance companyThere are no provisions in the contract
that say the moving company will pay for a missing box, unless the company
packs and unpacks as per section subsection G on the reverse side of the
contract (Document D) to which *** indicated by signature on the front of
the contract that he had read (none of the packers remember packing any of the
claimed missing items)*** *** commented on numerous occasions the said belongings,
“had no value other than sentimental, iegolf balls and shots glasses,” and
that the things “weren’t anything anyone would want to steal.” We have no
knowledge that the box ever existed and it is unfair to accuse us of ripping
him offAgain, we did not do a full
pack
Charming Movers protocol when
the trucks come back to the yard is to have the dispatcher check inside and out
of all the trucksNo boxes were found that evening from any truck
*** *** came out at the end
of the move while looking in and stating at the same time “is every thing out
of the truck” to see that it was emptyWe have two signed statements that
witnessed the occurrence(We will call Document E)
The sad part about this
misrepresentations of Charming Movers is that *** *** warned Cheri that if
she did give him the money she would never hear from him again, and that if she
didn’t he would go to the Revdex.com and write something bad to which he didIt is
unfair for any person to think that contract and insurance choices do not apply
to themIf you get a homeowners insurance policy and you do not choose flood
insurance and there is a flood you don’t get to say that the insurance company
is responsible

This document shows her insurance choice that has a $deductible which is written in plain sight right above her signatureWe will refer to this as (Document C.) We are still waiting for *** ***'s acceptance of the $275.00. In conclusion: If you have a homeowners policy and you don't choose flood insurance and then your home floods you don't get to make the insurance company or the agent responsible for the damagesThe claim was handled and paid in accordance with her chosen insurance.Additionally there are no previsions in the contract for returns on services already preformed.Charming movers is sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.Cheri D***Charming Movers Inc.C ###-###-####O ###-###-####

I am not sure how well the stair makers letter transferedIt states:
To whom it may concern
The furniture was being delivered while we were installing the wood railsI, *** ***, noticed the scuff and scratch marks up on the 3rd floor that appeared to be from the furniture movers placemement and repositioning of the furniture and or boxes on that level I notified the homeowners as I was working on the lower levels and had no occation to be on that level where the scratches were---------------------------------------------------------------
I wish I had understood the severity of the scratches at the time and would have investigated before the movers left Instead I uncovered the damage the following day and thats when I tried to get Charming Movers to engage in recognizing and solving the problem The initial email from Tony (also attached) made me think that this was an issue that could be resolvedUnfortunately, Cheri does not remember my initial phone calls stating I had witnesses to the events Then I tried to let my builder intervene given he had a previous relationship with Cheri and Tony This was fruitless and when I tried one last time to resolve the issues, recoup some of the money I had to pay because of damages caused by her movers she literally screamed on the phone with me This was the worst experience I have ever had.
Thank you for your timePlease let me know if the letter does not transfer well enough for you and I can send it to you if neededSincerely

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Reading Charming Movers response should be a red flag on how
they treat their customers. The bottom line is they lost my personal items that
I have collected over 30 plus years. I never stated they had no value however
they were items no one would want. They are my military awards and
collectibles, golf balls from courses I played over the years, shot glasses
from vacations, engraved items, my collectibles, and basically things that will
never be able to be replaced. I went on eBay and Amazon and found fair market
values for the things that can be replaced. All I asked for was form them to
compensate me for the items that were lost. Per a conversation with Cheri, she
was going to compensate me for the items lost but she was worried I would still
file a complaint. I sent her an email confirming that I would take no further
action however she failed to hold her end of the deal up. I am a military
veteran and an honest person and I have never been treated so poorly by a
company.
We did
hire them for a full service move. We did pack some of the house up to
save money. That is not a reasonable thing to do. Charming did pack the
basement and the shelf where the missing items were located.
All of
the dressers had clothing in them. After they told us to leave the items
in there my wife filled all the dresser drawers with clothing.  They did not just pack one dresser they
packed all of them.
Charming Movers will require you to get 3
estimates for furniture repair even though they are only going to pay you
by weight. Complete waste of time but the one of the estimates was from a
reputable furniture repair company and that was $1500. They guy I found on
[redacted] was $301.50.
Even
after I provided the correct weight of the couch they still do not have it
correct. The models they found on the internet are not the brand or model
of my couch.
For
several weeks my wife and I contacted Cheri about the missing box. She
never called me back when she said she was and she never followed up with
any thing she said she was going to do. It is only after I filed a
complaint she now has sworn statements from her employees.
There
were two trucks. After the first truck was unloaded it was then moved down
the street. This truck was never checked and I was not outside when they
moved it. They then pulled the second truck in. After the supervisor took
pictures of the damaged dresser I came down to the garage with him and
made payment. It was raining out side and I did ask him if everything was
out and he told me yes. The truck was backed about 10 feet from the garage
area and I could see blankets piled by the door but there was no way of
seeing all the way in the truck. They did not leave until 8:05pm and it
was dark out. So it’s impossible to see in dark trailer.
Charming Mover’s business practice is unethical and they
continue to not take responsibility.  I
am seeking $434.48 for the missing items.

Hello. I'm writing with an update to complaint #[redacted].
8/11/14 update: The owner of the business called me and provided her insurance information. She said she had an unexpected family emergency, which is why she hadn't returned my calls until now. I am in the process of filing a claim with her insurance provider. Once the car is repaired, I will reinstate the charge through [redacted] and cancel this Revdex.com complaint.

Could you update my file to reflect this?
Thank you,

Review: On July 26, 2014, we moved to a new home and used Charming Movers to handle the move. Everything went smoothly, until the end of the day, when the driver, Brian, backed the large moving truck into our car, which was parked on the street behind it. The accident caused damage to the hood, front bumper and grill of our vehicle. Brian got out, apologized, provided the truck registration and an insurance card, both of which I photographed (along with the damage to our car, the truck's rear bumper and the truck's license plate -- MD [redacted]). It was later that I noticed he has provided his personal auto insurance information, not for the truck. I called Charming Movers the next business day to seek out the correct insurance details I spoke with Tony. He said he would need to speak with Brian, who was out on a job, and would call me back. He didn't. I called Tuesday and spoke with the owner Cheri. She said she needed to look into it and would call me back that day. Again, no call back. I called again multiple times on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; no one answered the phone nor returned my messages. On Friday I said to please call me back by close of business or I would call Visa and ask the charges for the mover be disputed. I have yet to hear back from Tony or Cheri. Charming Movers is in breach of contact -- their agent caused damage to my property during the course of a move and they refuse to be responsive.Desired Settlement: I would like Charming Movers to provide insurance information so that I may get my auto repaired and bill their insurance. Once this is done, I will have Visa reinstate the $952 charge for the move. Also, I'd like the Revdex.com to investigate whether Charming Movers has proper insurance for its vehicles; is the reason the owner is avoiding being responsive to this situation because her vehicles are operating illegally and without insurance? The public has a right to know if this company is operating illegally.
