Review: I was a student at Charter College from February 2012 to October 2012. I studied for a Certificate in Computerized Accounting and decided to add two courses and get a second certificate in Computerized Office Specialist. I completed, mastered and passed them all and walked at graduation in September of 2012. In November of 2012 I was asked to come to Charter and meet with the campus president [redacted] and the director of student success [redacted]. When I did they told me that they went through their books and dotted I's and crossed T's and found that I could not receive the Certificate in Computerized Office Specialist without taking and paying for all of the courses over that I had already taken. They wrote me a letter to give to employers stating that I had taken the courses necessary to obtain both certificates but due to accredidation issues I could only have the one pertaining to accounting. As of current Charter College has a hold on my transcripts and I have still not received the certificate in accounting. Charter has refunded me the money for the two classes I took for the office specialist certificate. The career service advisor Debbie Moore seems to have lost interest in sending me job leeds and giving out my resume to potential employers also. Part of the package Charter sell is assisting graduates in finding a job in their field of study. This seems to have stopped. I have found employment on my own but, not in my field of study. No one from Charter has attempted to communicate with me since nor have I with them.Desired Settlement: I want all debt owed to Sally Mae forgiven and all monies returned that I've already paid to Charter. At this point I am not interested in anything but! I do not wish to hand employers a letter stating what a lousy school I attended. Should Charter decide to release my transcripts and send me my accounting certificate only because they are now questioned they can keep them. Employers in the Tri-Cities don't seem to be impressed with them anyway.
