As part of the Go Back To Get Ahead agreement that you agreed to when you started the program, students must successfully complete courses in order to receive money from the programBecause you withdrew/dropped your classes, the money was returned and you now owe for the cost of the MAT courseOur withdrawal policy is clearly stated on our website, in the catalog, and on the academic calendar: http://www.charteroak.edu/catalog/current/academic_policies_regulations/course_w... It is for these reasons that we cannot approve your write off of balance request

[redacted]               Dear [redacted], The Business Office and the President have received your letters regarding your balance on account and have asked me to respond on their behalf. On November 17, 2015, I addressed these very same concerns and I never received a response from you. As I mentioned, the Provost and I reviewed your Petition appeal and unfortunately, we will not be able to grant you a refund or remove the charges from your account.  In your Petition, you indicated that you made several attempts to change your SSN, and that the College ‘refused to change it’. Based on information I obtained from your records, I was able to determine that we reached out to you on several occasions regarding the SSN and we never received any responses from you. The reason why your SSN was inaccurate from the beginning is because when you submitted your FAFSA, you entered the SSN inaccurately. It was not the college. We pull the information from FAFSA based on what the student submits. Based on this chain of events, the following transpired: •         On 8/13/14 you talked via phone to the Director of Financial Aid while you were at [redacted], editor’s note)and you submitted a corrected FASFA and your Financial Aid exit counseling. •         As of 8/15/14 your record was updated by Financial Aid and you were sent your Financial Aid Award. •         On 8/20/14 you accepted your [redacted]. •         On 9/3/14 you sent an email to the Business Office inquiring that your SSN number was not accurate, but it was, as of 8/13/14 when you submitted the corrected FAFSA at [redacted]. However, [redacted] from my staff emailed you back on 9/4/14 stating what you needed to do to correct your record if “you felt it was not accurate”. She never received a response from you.•         On 10/5/14 you emailed your advisor stating that you were not happy with the MAT 103 class for various reasons and that you wanted to drop. She responded to you on 10/9/14 stating that you were funded by the Go Back To Get Ahead program and that you needed to talk to Financial Aid before withdrawing from your classes and the college. •         On 10/7/14 you emailed the Financial Aid office stating that your SSN was still incorrect and that you wanted to be removed from your class immediately because of it. On that same day someone from Financial Aid called and left you a message asking you to call back to discuss your email and why you wanted to drop your classes in further detail. They never received a call back from you.•         On 10/10/14 you submitted the withdrawal form for MAT 103 and also asked to be dropped from IDS 101. We processed the form; however, my staff member noticed you listed a SSN issue as the reason for withdrawal so she reached out to you in an email asking you to respond if you thought your SSN was inaccurate. She never received a response from you.  As part of the Go Back To Get Ahead agreement that you agreed to when you started the program, students must successfully complete courses in order to receive money from the program. Because you withdrew/dropped your classes, the money was returned and you now owe for the cost of the MAT 105 course. Our withdrawal policy is clearly stated on our website, in the catalog, and on the academic calendar: http://www.charteroak.edu/catalog/current/academic_policies_regulations/course_w... is for these reasons that we cannot approve your write off of balance request.
