Football tickets purchased, guests were not allowed into the venue. Ticket issuer denied a refund stating the reason "the event has passed"
As a student of Old Dominion University, I purchased two guest tickets for the ODU vs VT football game at a special rate of *** for each ticket for a total of *** paid by credit card on August 28th. Upon arrival at the event on Saturday, September 22nd, my guests were not allowed into the game, because they did not accept my student ID. When I contacted the ticket issuer on the first business day after the event Monday, September 24th I was told that because the event has passed, I could not get a refund. I provided my ticket number to the agent so they could check to see that the ticket was scanned and entrance was not provided (to ensure that my request for a refund was valid). I was told that they were sorry for the inconvenience, but could not issue me a refund. So in summary, a ticket was purchased for a football game, the terms of admittance were not violated by the guest; however, the guests were not allowed into the event, and I was refused a refund for the tickets because the "event had passed."

A full refund for the purchase price

On 3/12/17 I attended a ***concert held at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Virginia. I was so excited, I had waited over 10 years to see this group live. I got to the venue with some friends almost 6 hours before the doors opened (doors opened at 6:30PM). Everything went smoothly for most of that time and getting into the venue was easy. After doing a little running, trying to get to the front of the general admission section, I made it to the front. The view was amazing, my childhood dream was going to be achieved. Right at 8:30PM *** day went on. Wow. They took my breath away. For about 7 songs. It was at about this point that the lights were very bright so I spent some time staring at the ground to protect my eyes. The security guards did not take this lightly for some reason. The guards came up to me about 10 times asking me to leave because they didn't want to "haul my a*** over the barricade and carry me out". I told him repeatedly that I was fine and there was no need for me to be removed from the venue (i was not intoxicated or causing mayhem). The final time he told me to leave I responded with "i can take care of myself, I am not causing any problems nor am I going to become a problem". Immediately after that he walked around the barricade (i didn't see him do this, I just assumed he finally came to his senses and realized that I was right), then suddenly, a hand came from behind me and violently drags me out of the venue (i was not resisting). He handed me off to a paramedic who confirmed that I was only effected by the lights and was not intoxicated. He was very friendly and felt bad for me knowing how much this meant to me (only because we talked for a short amount of time). The *** show was 27 songs long. I was able to see 7 of them. I am heartbroken and furious. Since when could someone else tell me what was best for me? That guard had no right to remove me, especially in such a violent fashion. This venue will never be receiving my business again.

Desired Outcome

Refund I want a full refund of *** (this is the cost of the ticket plus fees). A reimbursement for the gas that i burned driving from ***, *** Or instead of this i would really appreciate a *** ticket to a future *** show, i don't say *** because I'm trying to take advantage of you guys, i say it because i don't want to sit around for over 6 hours again and i would be chancing getting front row again. It would be much appreciated.
