Service seeked: Installation of wood stove insert as main heat sourceComplaint: Chase improperly installed the flex pipe/top plate for my wood stove insert - didn't install all necessary parts (flex pipe insulation/flue cap) - resulting in damaged flex pipe which will need to be replaced for proper functioning, insulation being installed to allow the flex pipe to stay warm enough for the fire to be able to be started, and removal/re-install of entire wood stove/flex pipe/top plate/flue cap for proper functioning and heat.Chase Chimney Services installed new wood stove insert at the beginning of 2013 - had problems with draft and efficiency for the few months the stove was used (during this time the company was contacted and suggested options to "fix" the issue - draft fan/insulate flex pipe). October 2013 I contacted another chimney service company to determine if anything else could be the issue as this is a brand new stove and the problems shouldn't have existed with proper installation. Upon their examination of the stove/installation I was informed the stove/flex pipe wasn't installed properly with the proper supplies. Contacted Chase (who was only reachable via text)and after various communications was informed that because I didn't have inspection done (brand new home owner didn't know I had to do that - my bad), burned 3 cord of wood, and maintained my stove he wouldn't be responsible for the necessary "repairs" to correct the mess he has left me with. I now have a brand new wood stove insert that doesn't work due to the poor installation job and have been informed by another chimney service company that the entire installation has to be removed and re-done to fix the issue - this time including the necessary insulation (which should have been done initially) and to repair the mangled flex pipe that got bent around the damper surround (which should have been cut to allow the flex pipe to fit through). As a business owner I would have thought he'd tell me about the inspectionProduct_Or_Service: Wood Stove Insert InstallationDesired SettlementI would like Chase to reimburse me for the parts/labor that I am going to pay to have done to repair the non-functioning stove I am left with due to his improper installation. I paid Chase for the flex pipe kit and installation already - now due to the lack of knowledge used when installing my stove I am going to have to repay someone to do what I already paid Chase to do and pay an additional amount to un-do the mess that Chase has left me with and repair the portion of flex pipe he ruined
