Chase International Property Management Reviews (2)

I contacted Chase International Property Management with the hopes of seeing a home for rent as advertised on their internet webpage. A woman named Lois answered my inquiry about the home. She met with me to at 2:30 pm on Friday November 21 to view the home. My son and I waited for her arrival and she was on time. When we went in to view the home she showed me a retractable kitchen drawer which had random items in it that I assume were lefty behind by the previous tenant. A rotating cabinet in the kitchen cupboard and the tops of the counters which I could obviously see. She then tended to her own business with paperwork in a folder and left me to discover the house on my own. She did not tell me anymore about the place, or show me around or anything. I walked through the home with my son and my fiance on the phone telling him what I viewed and what I did or did not like about the property. I loved the home despite the fact that the bathrooms were filthy and housing a few spider webs. I came down stairs after viewing the home and told Lois, who was still tending to business in her folder that I loved the home and how my family and I would go about becoming potential tenants. We spoke and my heart began to sink deep into a fit of sadness and unworthiness because Lois was so rude and belittling to me. She implied that we could not afford the home (which we could 8+ times over) and stating fees as if it would deter me from my choice about the home. She shouted at my son causing him to cry while he was playing with his toy. I do not know why she was so cruel. I have never felt so low. I had a horrible experience. My fiance' who was on the phone heard the whole encounter and was so displeased that he called their main office to make a verbal complaint. To our surprise, the person we talked to asked who the agents name was and said "I get this call all of the time." apologized sincerely and said to call her Monday to find something I would love.Desired SettlementI would like to see this person in a different business. She should not be allowed to treat people this way or any other malicious way. She keeps doing this to people and it is wrong. Not only is she loosing her company good business, she is giving a bad name to other Real estate agents. Now, every time I think of a home or property manager she comes to mind and so does that awful experience. She should be removed from her practice. Business Response On behalf of Chase International Property Management, we have spoken to both agents involved and would like to extend our apologies to the Consumer. Going forward, we are more than willing to help the clients find a rental home that would be suitable and hope for a happy outcome for all concerned.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The woman who called me did so to apologize. However all she did while apologizing was tell me how her co worker being the "Kidder" lady whom I had the incident with would not ever intentionally be so cruel. She clearly had no intention of believing me. She made excuses for her friend claiming that she may have "had an off day" and things of that nature. That is no excuse for her behavior, nor for shouting at little child making him cry, belittling me, judging me and talking down to me as if I wasted her time and was of no worth. The Kidder woman didn't even have the decency to apologize herself.

In July 2014 we signed managment agreement with Chase International for our property at [redacted]. The complaint entails unauthorized repairs/services exceeding $250. These are:1. $320.76 to repair the icemaker on 8/5/14 despite the fact we were very clear the icemaker is not working and will not be repaired when the house was put in service. The repair was done anyway and our account charged 7 MONTHS LATER.2. $325.00 for yard clean-up on 12/10/14. As the owner we pay for lawn care but for no other services such as fall clean up or trimming. The agent made an arbitrary decision without consulting us despite the fact I reminded him in late Fall we only cover the lawn care.In addition there were other charges I consider unreasonable. These are:1. $120 to replace and reprogram garage door opener lost by the tenant on 11/20/14. We handed in 2 working openers to the agent in July, and should not be charged for replacements.2. $44.99 for new screen lint for the dryer (3/18/15) when the dryer has one in perfectly working condition and new one was not installed (I inspected personally)3. $140 to repair a leaking refrigator when there was nothing leaking, just some condensation in a bottom tray (March 2015)4. $75 for AC check when the tenant complained ac was not working and it turned out he/she put in heat mode (September 2014)5. $237 for fireplace repairs in February 2015The property manager duty is to procure "repairs and replacements reasonably necessary to preserve the property in habitable conditions and for the operating efficiency"-paragraph 11 of the contract. We were charged for things beyond reasonable and not even once asked by the property manager - [redacted]- whether we are ok paying for these repairs or services. Just simply surprised by the monthly statements from Chase and left to struggle with making the mortgage payments for the house!I attempted to resolve this matter directly with Mr. [redacted] in March 2014 but to no avail.Desired SettlementWe would like Chase International to refund us the money for unautorized and unreasonable repairs and services listed aboveBusiness Response [redacted]Document Attached[redacted]On April 25,2015 Chase International Property Management refunded this owner back a total of $485.75. On May 7th we also refunded the owner back $325. The owner then sent us an email which we have attached. Let us know that we have resolved this issue and the owner will notify the Revdex.com.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)We have been refunded the major charges and are willing to forgo the remaining amount. We have also decided not to renew the contract with Chase International.
