Review: On 5/1/14 I came to Chatfield's and spoke to [redacted] and advised her I was looking to get my transmission fixed at there location. We discussed a pricing of 1300.00 for parts and labor and set up a payment arrangement for me to make the 1300.00. By mid June the 1300.00 was paid off in full and I contacted [redacted] to see when can I get an appointment to get my car fixed. That is when the excuses all began I kept getting the run around about the dates on when it can be done. She kept telling me to be patient and she will find room for me. After all the run around I decided to go up there and when I got there I spoke with Scott who advised me that [redacted] had been fired 3 weeks ago. I was never aware of this because all the correspondence me and [redacted] where sending where done via text message. I advised Scott that I had my receipt showing my transmission was paid in full and he assured me that it would be done just give him a week. So I did every time I went to them it was another reason why they could not fix my car. On July 8, 2014 I went back to Chatfield's and the owner [redacted] gave me cash of 300.00 and a check for 1000.00 and he ask me if I will be willing to wait 3 days before I cashed the check, which I agreed to on I deposited the check into my bank and went back on July 19, 2014 at Wells Fargo and was advised that the check was returned due to Insufficient funds, and I was therefore assessed and 12.00 return check fee. I called [redacted] and advised him to check had bounced and he told me he would have my money for me the next day which would have been 07/24/14 by 1 pm. I called him on 7/24/14 around 12 pm and he advised me that he would not be giving me back my 1000.00 plus 12.00 NSF charge and to just sue him.Desired Settlement: I would like my 1000.00 back plus the 12.00 NSF charge and a 5.00 charge I was charge by my bank for a copy of the check

Review: I called looking for a 2006 mazda 3 transmission, on Sunday May 4, 2014, he said he could have it shipped from Bakersfield if we paid in advance and it would be here that following tuesday, May 6th. So we drove there that day, (a 2 1/2 drive round trip), and paid in full $565.00. My husband worked tirelessly to remove transmission so that we could get the core deposit of $50, that Tuesday my husband took the day off of work, at noon I called to let them know we were on our way when they informed me it was not there. They said they'd have one wed. or thurs. I asked to be called and never was. Finally I called and was assured there would be one delivered thursday, my husband took another day off work and when he got there the transmission was still not there. They never called to let us know again. This time the story was one would be here saturday, at this point (almost a week later after paying over 600 losing wages for 2 days and 2 trips down there totaling 5 hours of drive time and gas) I asked for a refund. I gave them cash they disputed but finally gave us a check which I cannot cash, and gave no apologies for the major inconveience and cost we suffered due to their poor business practices.Desired Settlement: I want to be compensated for some of my time and gas not to mention to be refunded the same way I paid, with cash.

Review: I have a repair, customer service, guaranteed and service issue with Chatfield Auto Dismantlers. General Auto Sales Corp sold me a car 2001 Toyota Camry March 5th 2013. On March 25th [redacted] Car Care did a courtesy inspection and told me that the water pump need to be replace. Also [redacted] Car Care told me that the timing belt and motor mount will need to be replace. [redacted] of [redacted] Corp took a extra $100.00 from me to get his associates Chatfields Auto Dismantler to do the job and that he will take care of the rest. On March 29th of 2013 I took the car to Chatfield Auto Dismantlers who promised on the work order that the work will be done on April 1, 2013. I do have the work order as evidence. I picked up the car that week with doubt they did the job. [redacted] convinced me they did he is one of the managers. I drove away and been driving the car until the day of September the 21st 2013 the water pump broke down leaving me stranded and almost could of killed me on freeway. My roadside assistant dropped car off at Chatfield's Auto Dismantlers and the following Monday morning September 23rd, 2013 I tood the city bus as a disable patron to resolve issue. I spoke with [redacted] who did not give me customer service he did'nt even come out to see my car. He denied that he did'nt do the work. I had no respect and have the work order that he requested to see it was home at the time. I called the tow truck to get my car and take it home. With no prevail I left Chatfield Auto Dismantler's with anxiety, disappointment, and emotional distress. Due to this problem I am missing wages from work not having my transportation as a disable customer with 2 curves on my spine.

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

I would like to be reimbursed for my emotional distress for the two companies lying to me that they fixed my car. I was put at risked. My repairs from the two estimates I have is $670.00 and $690.00 dollars to have the water pump and timing belt with labor to repair. I would like to be compensate $5,000 at the most to 3,000 to get my car repair and for emotional distress and missing wages from work. I don't trust either company I prefer [redacted] to do the work on my car.

Initial Business Response

Hello my name is [redacted] I am writing this letter in the interest of my company & good customer service. [redacted] first came in at the end of March, explaining that she personally had the car inspected & that she had a water pump & timing belt & motor mount that needed to be fixed. We were reached by Chat Auto and authorized to do the repair that she was complaining about. We in fact did do the water pump and other authorized repairs at time noticed a slight coolant leak coming from vehicle called letting her know she needed a radiator cap & it would cost $10.00. [redacted] insisted she "did not have the money." At that time we Chatsfields Auto Dismantlers let her know that it needed to be replaced as soon as possible,. This went on for 3 to 4 months after the first time being stated in March.

Lack of concern of taking care of the problem , cause [redacted] car to overheat multiple times causing the issue she has now. I apologize for any inconvenience she going threw due to her problem that she had if the radiator cap was replaced she wouldn't be going threw problems with her car.

Final Consumer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

I do not accept Chatfield's response because this statement is not true or accurate its false and fraud. April 2013 Chatfield said they did my water pump and timing belt and motor mount. This repair did not have anything to do with a radiator cap. August 2013 I went to Chatfield's by choice. I asked Chatfield's why my coolant was backing up and they told me to get a radiator cap. That day my friend [redacted] gave me the money for one and I purchased it. Once again Chatfield's did not have the decency to look at my car they let me drive away.

Final Business Response

hello my name rochelle and im responding for my company chatfields auto dismantler.we were contacted by, general auto sales for repair on one of his vehicle, and that customer would be bringing it in on march 29,2013 for repair of motor mount, water pump, thermo stat and gasket, also a timing belt.[redacted] came in we started repair on vehicle and when was done contacted [redacted] via telephone to let her know that the seal on the radiator cap was no good, and needed replacement for $10.00 extra dollars, when told that [redacted] was a little frustrated and claimed she in fact did not have any money.at that point we let her know her car was ready and that shes needed to take care of the radiator cap because it would cause a leak or worse over heating to the new parts we just installed. [redacted] came in to pick up the vehicle we again tried to stress that the radiator cap needed to be taken care of as soon as possible,we againg tried to tell her its only $10.00 and I order a new one she again insisted she did not have the money,at that point we did let her know that it could harm the work we have done to the car especially the water pump and if she in fact did not want to replace that part we did not want to give her a warranty on work performed.[redacted] then came in a week or two later we looked at the car and she was in fact complaining of a coolant leak again we let her know it was the radiator cap and asked [redacted] has it been over heating and she comfirmed it had,and that she would have the cap replaced.[redacted] did not take in anything that we had stated the seriousness about on the repair perform. I believe due to the neglience of customer care for car ended in a negative out come of the repair done. this is not a valid complaint because im just the repairer for the company of chatfields auto dismantlersand in fact that the one she should be complaing too for problems is the company contacted us for repair(general auto sales).I believe the customer should stop blaming everybody for her negliences and take responsibilty for her actions.

Review: Took my car February 1, 2014 (White [redacted] year 2000) in for service, you have to pay(1300) for service before they will start the repairs,(replace Transmission)as of this day I have not receive my car back. Everytime I call they have excuses: order the wrong part, I purchased a transmission they claim it doesn't fix, and the excuses go on and on, now they are saying I will have to pay them addtion $200 or $300 or give them the title to my carDesired Settlement: Rebuilt working transmission with a warranty.Thank You

Business

Response:

My goal is to repair the damage the previous management did. This isn't an easy job as there are numerous problems. The Lincoln is going to get a rebuilt transmission, by a third party.

Review: took my truck in to have rear axle assembly replaced. they put in the wrong one. they told me they didn't have another one to put in and also no longer had a mechanic to do the work. they told us we would have to swap it out ourselves and bring him back the other rear end. when we did bring it back he wouldn't refund us back for his mistake.Desired Settlement: what I paid for it. 400.00

Business
