I paid for a full semester of ballet classes and only received half. I explained my desire for a tuition credit but was basically told, "oh well"
I paid for a full semester of classes and due to the coronvirus shutdown, classes were cancelled halfway through. They "offered" online classes, but they were not a good fit for our family AND they were posted publicly on *** so that they were open to everyone (including those who had NOT paid tuition). I explained my concerns and requested a credit toward future classes, but was ignored. When I pressed the issue I was basically told "we don't care that we did not provide the service. Too bad, no refunds." I understand these are tough times, but I paid for a service and it was not provided. Period. In light of the way this organization has handled this issue, I am no longer willing to accept a credit, as I will no longer be working with them. I would like a refund of $125 which is approximately half the semesters' tuition.

Chattanooga Ballet, like so many other businesses, was shut down by governmental action in mid-March 2020 as a part of the Covid-19 quarantine efforts. In order to continue to provide value to families who had signed up for ballet classes, instruction was moved on-line, specifically, live streamed videos on Chattanooga Ballet's *** page. The video of the classes remained on the site for any parent/student who was not able to watch the live stream. Because classes continued, all parents were informed that refunds were not available. All 330+ families had previously been assessed a $25 performance fee for an end-of-semester recital. Parents were offered a refund of this fee along with the option of using it as a credit or donating the fee to help Chattanooga Ballet pay its teachers through the end of the semester during the pandemic. Ms. was paid this refund. We were heartened by the fact that 97% of parents chose to donate their fee to the organization. Ms. is the only customer that has demanded a refund of tuition. Service was not withheld from her or her child, however the location of the class did change from Chattanooga Ballet Studio to any location of her choice. Chattanooga Ballet provided additional value by hiring four world class ballet instructors from , , *** and *** to teach on-line Master Classes. In her email to me, Ms. stated "I don't have the patience to facilitate these lessons." We empathize with the changes that the worldwide pandemic has thrust upon everyone. Chattanooga Ballet regrets that Ms. is displeased with our policy, but the organization did an outstanding job of continuing to deliver value during extraordinary times.

I know for a fact that I am not the only parent that has requested a refund. My original al request was for a credit, which is more than fair given that I DID NOT receive the service I paid for. I know that others have requested credits and been denied, and that LIE is just another indication of the lack of integrity present In this organization. I believe I've been very reasonable and I'm glad that so many chose to donate their performance fees, but we were not in the financial position to do so. It honestly feels like being taken advantage of because I am not wealthy. And I'm very disappointed in this turn of events. I used to recommend Chattanooga ballet to anyone looking for ballet classes, but that recommendation has become a "buyer beware"
