MAY 12, Response to Complaint CONCERNING ID# *** *** brought Chevy Silverado for some body work and paint for $After weeks in the shop we called *** *** to inform him that his truck was readyWhen he arrived and looked over the truck he noticed a misalignment form
the hood to the fender we asked him to leave the truck so we could correct the misalignmentAfter the issue was corrected we called the customer to come back and take a lookAt the time he saw that we had made the correction he accepted for the momentI also Informed him that the body side moldings that he had on his truck were no longer usable I also informed him that I could get an aftermarket set for about $He accepted and I ordered the molding told him that the molding will be in the following weekWhen moldings arrived we called *** *** to come in so we could install the moldingsWhen he came in *** *** informed me of some imperfections in the paintI went over to take a look and he pointed out some dirt on the clear and a couple sagsI told *** *** not to worry that we could take care of that with a bit of buffingAt this time he mentioned about the hood not being correct again as we had aligned the hood as best as we couldWe then informed him of the hood being replaced because of the hail damage on the hoodtold him that I replaced the hood so we would not have to increase the price of $explained how it would be more cost effectiveI also informed him that there was hail damage on the roof that we repaired as wellAfter the truck being buffed and calling *** *** to pick up his truck he came in and inspectedHe then felt that he should not have to pay for the moldings as it was an inconvenience to himI agreed and thanked him for letting us correct the issueA week or.so has passed and came back and had said that there was more dirt and another sag that he foundI offered the same to fix the clear by buffing and he allowed us to do soWhen he came to pick up his truck I was tied up with a few customers and did not have the chance to talk to *** *** he said that he would be in touch with meA few days pass and I receive a call form *** *** he explained to me that he was still unsatisfied with the repairI then told *** *** that I would go out to his house so we could go over the whole truck so we are not just going around in circlesWhen I arrived I took a note pad and would not every item that *** *** would point outI told *** *** that we would warranty all the items that he just addressedhe then mentioned that he wanted his original hood back on the truckI informed him that I would warranty the paint on the hood but we would need $to repair his hoodHe said that he never knew that there was hail damage on the hood or the roofI told him that we are warranting the paint already and asked again for $to repair the hood so he could be satisfiedAfter that meeting a week or had passed and *** *** calls the shop to talk about the warranty that we had discussed previously he then asked if I could give him a break on the $for the hoodI informed him again that it was a lot of damageHe didn't ask for an answer he told me to think about it and he would call backAnother week passes and *** *** comes in and tells me that he is still very unhappy about the job and claims to have loss sleep over this whole situation in witch has us confused because we have been trying to work with him the entire time to resolve the situationHe then demanded a full refund so he could take it somewhere else to be fixed he said he felt that we could not do the jobI then reminded him that we had been trying to work with him the whole timeI also reminded him about what we had discussed at his home when we went around his truck to note what he was unhappy with and that we would warrantyAsked again for him to let us warranty the work and he quickly said NO I would like my money backI informed him that I would solely not be able to make that decision as I would have to consult with my father and told *** *** that I would call him back the next dayPhone call was not made next due to the dispute being review and a decision had not been madeThe following day *** *** came in we shook hands and greeted He asked if I had talked to my dad I said yes and began to tell him that we regret to inform you that we will not be issuing a refundHe asked why? I proceeded to tell him that we believe that we have done everything we could do to resolve the situation and he had yet to be happy with any effort to resolve the situationI reminded him of the body side moldings that were provided to himAgain told him that we were trying to warranty any of our workHe then started to ask well what if you just paintI stopped him and informed him that I think we were donethat just yesterday he said that we were not fit to do the jobAfter offering to warranty and trying to work with *** *** we strongly felt that he would not be satisfied even if warrantied the truck and we would not be refunding his money backHe said OK and leftChayo's Paint & Body Shop

I am rejecting this response because: I truly feel that Chayo's Paint & Body Shop did not properly attempt to repair the paint defects which I pointed outAs for the hood, Chayo's Paint & Body Shop admitted that I should have been notified prior to them replacing it with anotherThe hood that was used to replace the orginal also had hail damageThere are a couple of things which I had not mentioned previously, and that is that the 'Silverado' emblems on each side of the truck are missing, and that the first time that I went to pick up the truck after they said it was 'ready to go' , the glove compartment door opened up by itselfWhen I got home, I looked at it, and the glove compartment door latch was brokenI have the part at home
I did mention this, however I didn't put a lot of emphasis on this. On the subject of the hood, and I had previously mentioned it, there are times that I pull on the hood release lever, and it feels like I had previously pulled on the leverThat is not a good feelingI would certainly not want the hood to open if I was driving the truckI mentioned that, and there was no effort to fix thatAs I mentioned earlier, I truly feel that Chayo's paint & Body Shop did not make a true effort in correcting my concernsActions speak louder that wordsChayo's Paint & Body Shop says that I went to the business and demanded the return of the moneyWhat I said was that if they would return the money, I would see that as having acted ' In Good Faith' in an effort to keep the customers happyI fail the see where using those words would be seen as a demand
