Mr [redacted] and his mother purchased the vehicle on August 22, with a thirty day, fifteen hundred mile warranty While he did have some complaints under warranty and I had a problem with the first vendor I ordered the New Catalytic converter from, the shifting problem and specifically the loss of reverse gear did not manifest itself until the end of January after more than 5,miles of driving I have offered that if he pays for the used transmission (I found one at the time for $400.00) I would install it for free incluiding fluid and filter This is above and beyond the terms of the expressed warranty which I gave him on the vehicle Since the vehicle is over seven years of age and was under $3,there was no implied warranty under Connecticut state law

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I did complain several times before the day warranty ended that the transmission was skipping and the owner kept reassuring me that "that is what occurs with year old cars ," and/or "it's a Hyundai they do that." It is even documented in one of my over visits to the dealership that the "skipping was checked" when in reality no check was done Also there was an issue with the transmission that caused the engine light to go on and instead of fixing the issue the dealership's mechanic turned off the engine light so that I could continue to drive the car with transmission issuesOn one occasion the mechanics at the dealership could not find the code (or so they said) and I spent a whole day sitting at the dealership waiting on that problem to be fixed and at the end of that day they told me there "was nothing wrong and to continue driving the vehicle." There were several problems with the car, and even though I brought it in over times the dealership in an effort to not have evidence of the car being a lemon (multiple repairs after purchase) no receipts were provided for all the work done to remedy several serious issues with the car I am paying over $3,for a car book valued at less than $1, The owner believes I should add $to that total making the price of the car over $3,Again, for a year old car that is valued at less than $1,200! That is over 200% profit! I feel that the dealership willingly and maliciously allowed me to drive a car they knew was about to loose it's transmission, placing me in danger and now making it so I cannot drive the car Yet I am still paying for a car that I cannot drive for fear that they will reposes it if I refuse to pay! Being that I live on a fixed income (SSDI of $ 804) paying their $monthly car payment and my $rent, leaves me no money for this kind of repair, so again I am left with a registered vehicle that cannot be driven! I know this is not the Owner's Problem, but it is mine, so I will do what I can to get my car fixed! By the way it says on my Sales Receipt that the "Total Sale Price is $3,211.39," well over the $state minimum the owner spoke of in his response Again "TOTAL SALE PRICE is $3, Not what the car's "cash price is"! I believe State Law covers "Total Sales Price," but I could be mistaken Sincerely, [redacted]

I have read Mr***'s rejection. First of all, when calculating the sales price under the state lemon law tax and registration are definitely NOT included. The total price of the car was $2,plus $for the office conveyance fee for a total of $2,which is definitely less than the $3,for any implied warranty. Secondly, vehicles over seven years of age are not subject to the implied warranty.
This vehicle was an ex rental vehicle from my fleet (as disclosed on the sales agreements), not a car that we had just bought from the auction. We were renting the car out with no problems and only took it out of service due to insurance company requirements upon the renewal of our policy shortly before Mr*** and his mother purchased the vehicle. It was definitely in good running condition
Mr*** actually brought the vehicle in six times under warranty; The first visit was to adjust the drivers door latch and balance the front tires for a shimmy. The second visit was made with no appointment; the customer was complaining of the check engine light coming on (which was determined to be a catalytic converter efficiency problem) a vibration at idle with the ac on (which was determined to be for a Accent), a vibration at mph (which was determined to be brake pulsation) and a complaint about the transmission shifting (which was determined to be for a Accent). We made an appointment for him to bring the car in a few days later to have the front rotors replaced which was the third visit. The next (fourth) visit was to install the new catalytic converter which I purchased off ***. The part did not fit and I sent it back. The ebay seller was a nightmare; I have pictures of the part mismatch and copies of correspondence since I had to initiate a dispute through *** and *** *** to get my money back because they never sent the right part. The fifth visit was when we towed the car in when the customer ran out of gas. The catalytic converter was finally replaced on a sixth visit after I finally ordered one from another *** seller which fit. The Check engine light was on for the catalytic converter having poor efficiency and not for anything to do with the transmission

** *** purchased a vehicle from us in April, covered by a thirty day, fifteen hundred mile warranty Before *** *** purchased the vehicle, we brought it to his mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection Neither the parking brake nor the airconditioning were listed as issues on that
inspection *** *** has indeed returned the vehicle for repairs three times The first time, we installed a used AC compressor The second time, we discovered that this used part had failed and we called the supplier for a replacement The third time, we installed this replacement, which as far as I know is working fine We have made several adjustments to the parking brake When he brought it in the last time, ever before we pulled the car into the shop, I tried it Not only was the brake capable of holding the vehicle on the hill in our driveway, I was able to stop the vehicle from about 5-miles per hour using only the parking brake When I first got into the vehicle, the brake was only pulled up a couple of clicks It seems that *** *** is not pulling up the brake hard enough
I have never refused to repair the vehicle for *** ***, even months after the warranty ran out On the contrary, *** *** has made and missed numerous scheduled appointments If there is any problem with the car since his last visit, *** *** has not bothered to make me aware of them before now
I would suggest that if *** *** still has a problem with either the parking brake or the airconditioning he call and schedule an appointment to bring it in Then he will actually have to show up with the car for the scheduled appointment I will fit the car in tomorrow morning (8/15/14) if he so desires

This company is TRASH. They gave me not one but TWO faulty vehicles and then said I was lying. Lew, the owner does not care about his customers only their money. The name is even misleading. These cars are cheap but the prices are not. It's not worth it. He doesn't have a good reputation and I should've paid attention to the reviews before doing business with them. Above that their cars for sale are DISGUSTING. I would never. I don't know how they stay open but if I have anything to do with it, wont be for long!

Review: I bought a Car from this Dealership and had several problems intermediately come up within their 30 day warranty: Issues with the Battery, the Driver's Side Door and Window, Skipping Transmission, etc. etc.). Needless to say, I complained about a skip in the transmission while the 30 day Warranty was still in effect. I purchased the car with an existing condition (Catalytic Converter needed replacement) this took almost 2 months(30 days after warranty) to correct. The owner had allot of excuses including that the purchased used CAT was "taking too long to get here from Canada." The dealership's mechanics insisted that what I reported to them (skipping transmission) was not a transmission issue, instead they came up with several other excuses on why the transmission appeared to be skipping: Some of the excuses shared by the "Owner" were that the shifting issue was because of the car's age, make and model. All were found to be unfounded excuses. So I purchase the vehicle on 8/23 and after a little over 4 months the transmission finally falls apart. The Owner is accepting no responsibility for the broken transmission because according to him "this occurred after the 30 warranty ended." The issues had been reported prior to 30 days and the engine light that warned of a transmission problem had been shut off by a mechanic months before the transmission finally broke. The car whose book value is under 1,200 will cost me 3,200 by the time I finished Paying it off. Now the Owner wants me to pay 400 dollars for them to replace the Broken Transmission of this Lemon (which is basically what this is amounting to) bringing the cost of the Car to $3,600 dollars - this is for a 13 year old car with High Mileage. Now the owner offered to "put in" the transmission for free as long as I buy the transmission. Being that I am on disability and only get enough money to pay the car note $200 and my rent $700, it means that I cannot drive the car till I get money from who knows where!Desired Settlement: I want the Transmission replaced free of charge as the Dealership was well aware of the slipping transmission before the warranty period was over and are now offering free labor on something they should have taken care of before selling me the car! Also, the car is a Lemon by definition as it has had non stop repairs since the Purchase date of 8/23! If no resolution can be made with Revdex.com then I may have to seek legal advice on this matter.

Review: I recently purchased an automobile from Cheap Auto Rental Co. I had a pre-purchase inspection done on the car. I then faxed the paperwork back to the company (cheap auto rental). I was told that ALL of the issues on the problems list were taken care of . I picked the automobile up the following day, only to find out that A/C didn't work, and the emergency brake , even while fully engaged, was not working. This all took place on April 9th, 2014. Since then I have had to bring the same automobile back, three more times for exactly the same two things to be repaired. I don't feel that this car is safe. I never know if my car will still be in the same place that I left it in , or if it will have caused an accident by rolling , after it has been parked.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the car fixed properly, or if this cannot be done, replaced with an automobile that doesn't put my life in danger.

Review: On July 1,2015 I rented a van for a family vacation because my truck broke down before the vacation, cheap auto rental was the only facility that had a van in such short notice for my large family.[redacted] who is the manager of this establishment told me he would have someone drive the van to [redacted] from [redacted] for my availability all I had to do was go to [redacted] to pick it up,when I did the van was so discussing I called him the next day and complained he was not available called 3xs even while on vacation the van eas not cleaned smelled awful had beer cans and cigarettes in the back of the van a crack in the bumper I cleaned the van put antifreeze an oil in the van the oil light had came on during the trip. called him on 7/13/15 due to I was told he was on vacation until this day when I called he denied the van was dirty,he said it was used in a wedding before I used it which I do not care about ,he was vary unprofessional about the whole issue all I asked for was the $78 dollars that was taken from my account for cleaning the van and for the oil and antifreeze that was put in that van.Thank you for taking the time to lead this letterDesired Settlement: $78.00 for my job of cleaning and putting antifreeze and oil in the van I will NEVER contact this business ever AGain!

Response:

The van in question was used for a bridal shower the weekend before the rental. Both back seats were removed from the van. When the van came back from that rental, it was cleaned with the rear seats OUT before they were re-installed. As such there were definitely no beer cans in the vehicle. Cigarette butts in a crevice perhaps, but the van was reasonably clean. We rent USED vehicles. The name "Cheap Auto Rental" is purposely meant to convey this fact. As such the van may have some stains, a crack in the plastic bumper, etc. . We are not [redacted], etc. and we do not pretend to be and we do not charge their prices. The van did not break down. The van was apparently suitable for their purpose of basic transportation. All that they were charged was the weekly rate, the collision coverage, and the taxes. As such I feel that no credit is due to them.
