deposit went towards his purchases on July **, 2016 and would be completed on December *, 2016 when his UFT voucher came available. Considering [redacted] used his UFT voucher in 2014 with us and was a valued previous customer of ours. We took him for his word providing him with a service of his eye exam early.  There are no laws dictating how often a patient can get an eye exam. Our eye exam is normally $69.00 the $20.00 deposit was also to serve as a good faith gesture with [redacted]. Additionally, since this patient received a service [redacted] owe's us $49 for the eye exam. We are willing to either accept a payment of $49.00 or he can bring in his UFT voucher on December *, 2016 to receive his 2016 prescription. If not the only thing we can do is provide [redacted] with a copy of his 2014 prescription.

Review: In March 2013 my daughter had an eye exam in the Fort Gratiot Mi Cheapers Peepers. Glasses were ordered and paid for. Store closed shortly after. I have call the ###-###-#### number many times to resolve the issue. I am wanting her glasses that were ordered and the script of her eye exam to obtain contacts. I cannot get either one. They continue to say they will get back with me and take my information. I have given them my information over 10 times and never hear back. What I did get on two occations were "I have other customers in the store I will have to call you back" or "my son is on the other line I will have to call you back" No one seems to have the glasses, record of the glasses, or record of her eye exam. I paid over 100.00 already and have nothing. I now need to take her to get an eye exam to get glasses and contacts. I just did this in March. I have no optical insurance.Desired Settlement: I want my money back or the glasses and the script. Also they need to learn customer service. I have never filed a complaint about any business in my 45 years.

The complaint that was made was from a customer who made a purchase in the Cheaper Peepers store in Fort Gratiot, Michigan. Until recently, Cheaper Peepers optical stores were located in five (5) locations in eastern Michigan inside Meijer department stores. The Cheaper Peepers stores in Michigan have always been owned and operated by a separate company from those Cheaper Peepers stores in New York.

Unfortunately, the weak Michigan economy resulted in the closure of the Michigan Cheaper Peepers stores and they are presently in the process of liquidation through the United States Bankruptcy Court.

After the Michigan stores closed, in an effort to limit the inconvenience and affect of the closure to the customers of the Michigan stores, arrangements were made with Cheaper Peeper of New Hyde Park, Inc. located in New Hyde Park, New York to complete any outstanding optical orders when the stores were closed. All optical work that was completed when the stores closed was sent to each patient. Each patient who ordered optical work that was still in progress was contacted with the intent to see if arrangements could be made to complete all orders. Unfortunately the nature of bankruptcy proceedings limited what could and could not be done which has resulted in frustration on the part of some Michigan patients.

A list was compiled of all outstanding orders by the Michigan Cheaper Peepers staff on the day of closing and forwarded to Cheaper Peepers of New Hyde Park in an effort to limit the affect of the closure on the Michigan patients. Unfortunately, it was discovered that the information with regard to a few of the outstanding orders was not forwarded, which include this complainant.

Cheaper Peepers of New Hyde Park was advised that all records of exams of all patients have been retained by [redacted] in Michigan who can be contacted at ###-###-####, which information was supplied to the complainant as well as all other Michigan patients contacted.

Unfortunately, all the assets and records of the Michigan Cheaper Peepers stores are tied up in the bankruptcy proceedings and not within the control of any of the Cheaper Peeper stores located in New York, which, as advised are separate unaffiliated companies.

Cheaper Peepers in New York truly empathize with each and every Michigan patient, including complainant and have done and will continue to lend support and provide information as soon as it becomes available to help facilitate the claims process for unfulfilled orders which, given the nature of bankruptcy proceedings, is likely to be a somewhat slow process. Further, the New York staffs of Cheaper Peepers are dedicated to treating all patients, including those from Michigan that may call, with respect, attention and caring.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I never recieved a letter. I recieved 3 emails........July *, July *, and July **. I did not recieve an email or mail dated for July **. I did recieve the prescriptions for glasses from cheepers peepers but I have not recieved the glasses. They don't seem to have record of that. I would like the case reopened to get my money back.
