This company sold me a basic fare ticket at $611 after buying a $386 fare ticket from United Airlines. I was not made aware upfront that my ticket had a lot of constraints (no carry-on baggage, no choice of seat). The ticket confirmation was sent to me more than 24h later.

On my flight return at the airport, I questioned United about the stringent restrictions on a $611 flight ticket, such as no carry-on luggage, no assigned seat (I was asked to move seats three times on my way in). In response to my questions, United Airlines printed a receipt to confirm that my payment to United was only $386 ($333 + fees).
During a phone call, Cheapticketsdeal.com mentioned that my complaint is simply not valid, because they sold me a ticket at a discounted price.
In summary, I have been the subject of extremely bad business practice from a company claiming to sell cheap tickets. We would like to bring to your attention that passenger was informed in advance that the ticket is in basic economy class at the time of the booking and it will include only a personal item on the ticket cost. We have sent him an email as well with this information along with the flight details. The screenshot of the the email has been attached as well. We understand we did not mention about each and every restrictions on the email but the agent did explain this on the call to the passenger and even on the airline's website, all restrictions are mentioned for basic economy because it not not only us who sells tickets in basic economy even airline sells it itself.
Also, about the price, over the call as well he was given the same price that he was getting online and the reason he himself chose to book with us by because at that time he was getting lowest fare with us even lower than the price available directly with the airline otherwise he would have booked directly with the airline. We are a travel agency and we have different contracts and deals with the airline which a customer will not have. This is how each and every travel agency works so there should not be any question on the amount that we are paying to the airline and what we have given to any passenger because there are various other things that we have to pay for. We buy stock tickets from airline for which we pay them an advance amount, we pay issuance fee to our consolidator in order to have any ticket issued, we pay merchant fees and also we are profit making company so our commission is there as well.
When passenger called us for price dispute, we tried to explain him this but he was not ready to understand. What we understand that we informed passenger about basic economy ticket, also we charged him the same amount that he agreed to pay at the time of booking. I am rejecting this response because:I disagree with Lizze statement that all information was disclosed to me when booking the ticket. The booking was extremely difficult as Lizze kept making mistakes in the booking; please see an attached snapshot on 11/11/2019. As you can see in Lizze’s attached document, there is no indication of any restriction on the baggage allowance. However, after my credit card was charged, I received a document showing that my baggage allowance was 0 piece(s), see the attached snapshot “Missed Email from ‘support’.” I was made aware of this e-ticket email by Lizze on 12/30/2019; when I mentioned that I had not received an e-ticket confirmation. Then after I complained to Revdex.com, Lizze sent me an email on 12/31/2019 containing the breakdown of the charges. As you can observe in the snapshot attached, she shows that the ticket price was inflated by 58%: 32% price and 26% tax. Lizze mentions that I chose to book with them was because I was getting the lowest fare, even lower than the price available directly with the airline. According to United the ticket price was abnormal given the restrictions, the receipt was $333+fees: $386 (see document attached: United Airlines receipt), the agent told me that she would escalate this. When I boarded the plane, I investigated the price that other passengers had paid, and a recurring number was given to me at around $400. Again, I agreed to pay $611 to CheapTicketsDeal, but I did it under the condition of a standard flight, not under some very restricted conditions (0 baggage and no seat choice). If was I informed that I could not carry a piece of luggage or that I could not choose my seat, then I would have continued to shop for a much cheaper ticket and would not have accepted to pay $611 with such restrictions. In summary, I was enticed to pay a high price for inferior flight service, so that CheapTicketsDeal can realize a large margin.

I purchased a round trip ticket from Los Angeles, CA to Honolulu, HI and received a booking confirmation from this website on November 26th confirming the flight reservation number and itinerary which was round trip from LAX to HNL. When arriving at the airport for my return flight to LAX on 7/9/19, the airline representative indicated that my final destination was Portland, OR after a 12 hour layover in Los Angeles. Of course I had no intention of going to Portland, and that was not part of my itinerary, however I thought that it would be fine because I could just not get on the second leg of my flight and just stay in LA where I live.
THe airline attendant however indicated that our checked luggage would need to be routed to the final destination on my ticket, in this case Portland, OR. I asked what my options would be and she said I could (1) purchase a separate ticket on the LAX flight and check my bags on that ticket (only first class was available for $2,500) (2) buy a one way ticket home from Portland and just spend an extra day going to Portland to pick up my bags ($2,000), or (3) I could have my bags shipped back from Portland by the airline at the freight fare ($500+). Of course none of these options were appealing and so I remembered that my cousin was taking a flight from HNL to LAX on a different carrier. As a last resort I asked her to check my bags under her flight for which I paid $300, because my bags represented her 3rd and 4th checked bags respectively.
Upon return to LAX I wrote to the customer service of Cheap Tickets Deal explaining the situation, attaching the receipt, and requesting a refund for the baggage fees charged as a result of their error in booking. After my refund request was declined I called customer service multiple times and eventually talked to supervisors by the names of David and Jamie. They were also not able to process my reimbursement request and indicated that this is a common trick that they perform to get lower fare
