Review: I went to Check First Cash Advance on Wednesday May 29 2013 to obtain a cash advance. There was a woman working and I asked her if I could get a cash advance. She stated yes and I gave here my information. Then she stated that she could not take my bank statement because it was ripped in half and that I would have to go to my bank to get a statement. I left and by the time I got to the bank it was closed. I went back on Thursday May 30, 2013 at around 1:40 with all of my information including a copy of my bank statement. There was another lady there and she started to input my information in the system. The other woman told me I needed a work number. I told her I did not know it. She told me to look it up in the phone book but I could not find the number. I asked if they could Google the number online. She said no. So I said never mind on the application and folded my application in my purse. She told me that that was her and took my bank statement and would not give it back. She said it was her propertyDesired Settlement: Apology and my paperwork back!!

In this instance it is unfortunate that the customer does not feel he or she was adequately served. Due to high scrutiny we must ensure that each customer has up to date and accurate information in the screening process. We have policies in place to limit customer exposure such as we may not look up phone numbers, addresses and so on. After thoroughly researching this we have determined that our normal policy standards were followed, and any information the customer needed to be returned was. Once again we hope the customer in question may wish to do business with us in the future and we hope they understand we followed our procedures and do not feel any improper conduct has taken place.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.This company did not follow proper polices. The branch manager took my bank statement off the counter and would not give it back until I told her that I had all day to wait. I was not denied a loan with this company and I chose to withdraw my application. I do understand if I had completed the process that they would have keep my PERSONAL information on file. I told them I did not want to complete the process. They have copies of my license, social security number, and paycheck stub. I would like to have them back. Regards,[redacted]
