I apologize, I did not seem to receive your previous letter. I read the complaint from August 18 and wanted to respond. This guest, [redacted], contacted me on 8/18/14 and registered the same complaint. She also demanded I give her compensation. I apologized and...

assured her I would speak to our employee. I took her mailing information to send her a certificate to use towards a future visit. I contacted our home office that same day and the next day received notification that a certificate was on the way to her. I decided on $10. 00
95% of our menu items are less than $10 and she did mention being with another person, this amount would also easily afford her a dessert AND an appetizer if she felt like sharing. When I spoke to my employee, he said it did happen like that, but he felt that there was a joking air to it and her friend laughed as well. He told them he would go and get a towel and when he came back, they were gone. He apologized profusely. I counseled him, that perhaps he embarrassed our guest more than anything and to be careful of being too familiar with our guests. We have an excellent reputation here in town and are known for good service. This employee in particular has many guest compliments and regulars. I apologize for her experience again and my delay in responding having just seen this today. I’m also checking our junk mail to divert any future correspondence. If you have further questions, please let me know if I can be of service.
