Inconsistency
We have a new location in Conroe, Texas and we have visited there frequently. Food and service has been exemplary. However, I recently visited the Cheddars in Luftkin, Texas and found it to be filthy in every respect: dining room, restroom, corridors and table itself. Every surface was coated in grease. The handy computer thing at the table was GROSS. The floor was so slick with grease that it was treacherous. That is not an exaggeration, I almost fell several times just trying to go gingerly walk to the restroom.
I also took my family to the Cheddars in Fairview, Illinois during this trip and, while the food was barely OK, the waitress was surly, almost rude, and the food was slow coming and overcooked. The broccoli/cheese casserole was mostly bread and very dry, coconut shrimp left in fryer a bit too long.
I Was just left feeling like the management of these restaurants lacks the consistency of a chain. Makes one not want to bother trying out each one in order to discover through research which ones to patronize.

If you want good service. DONT GO HERE. My waitress was rude, the manager was rude, and the GM was disrespectful. They made me feel like less than a person over a discrepancy on my bill. The issue was over a $2 charge which could've easily been handled with a proper explanation. However, I sat at the table with 2 young children for an extra 20 minutes until they decided to correct my bill. There is no such thing as customer service here. I was once a waitress and still work in customer service I would have never made a scene in the middle of the restaurant over such a small discrepancy. The bad thing is that I live across the street of this restaurant and have ate here frequently. Never have I ever felt so disrespected by those placed in managerial positions. They need to focus more on customer service and less on their personal feelings.
Management does not care about having customers return, instead they prefer to argue.

Review: On January 12, 2014 I went to Cheddars in [redacted], MD with a party of 2 to have dinner and drinks. Upon arriving we seated ourselves at the bar/table area. We proceeded to wait for at least 20 minutes before receiving any service. The bus boy came and cleaned our table at that time. We then waited another 10 minutes before receiving our drinks at which time we ordered our food. We waited another 20 minutes without receiving food at which time we moved our seats to the bar and informed the bartender we were moving due to receiving no service at the table. We then waited at least another 20-30 minutes for our food at the bar. While seated at the bar two men sat opposite of us upon doing so they immediately continuously verbally harassed us the entire time they were seated there. My party ignored them continuously until the situation escalated into a verbal altercation with one man being the aggressor. Your manager [redacted]( we were refused a last name for him at the time we called back to obtain the managers name after the altercation) not once said one word to the gentleman who was verbally assaulting us but as soon as I said something to the gentleman we were told we had to leave. We could not finish our meal or our drinks despite the fact this gentleman referred to us as b-----s and told us to shut the f---k up in front of the manager [redacted]. The gentleman not once was told to leave. We were told by [redacted] this was a family establishment but not once did he tell this to the gentleman who was the aggressor. Not once were we asked what happened. The whole situation started when this [redacted] gentleman saw someone in my party conversing with a [redacted] gentleman and became enraged by that. Mind you we have been regular patrons since this location has been open. Not once have we had an altercation until today. Our bill was $27.00 I am asking to be reimbursed.I am also requesting that the staff receive some sort of training with regard to dealing with situations such as these.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement for $27.00 and some sort of mandatory sensitivity training for staff regarding situations such as what took place today. I will never patronize this business again. The way this was handled today was descriminatory and one sided. To the point the gentleman that was with the aggressor apologized for his friends behavior. Not once did we receive an apology from the staff or the manager [redacted].

Review: On Sunday, January 11, 2015, My friend and I went to Cheddar's Restaurant. I arrived around 2:45 and my friend was there before I was and we waited over an hour and no food. We finally contacted the General Manager and he came over to our table to find out what was going on. We told him how long we had been waiting and still we had not been served. He left our table to further investigate our complaint. When he came back he said that the food was just being prepared and walked away without offering any compensation for our wait time. I called him as he walked away and he just kept going. Even when he was talking to us he was not pleasant at all. He did not treat us like valued customers. Once he left the table, he never returned to see if everything was alright, once we finally got the food. We felt like our business did not matter and was not appreciated. Very poor customer service coming from a General Manager,to say the least. After all, our dollars help pay the employees and GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE MATTERS!Desired Settlement: My friend and I would like a free lunch, of our choice, at another Cheddar's Restaurant.
