Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
I do not agree with their account of the background to the dispute but that is not the subject of this complaint. The fact is that Chelan Valley Builders agreed in writing to reimburse me for the expenses I incurred after they failed to have the deck leak repaired, and that agreement made no reference to, nor involved their subcontractor. The promised reimbursement is way overdue but I’ll be satisfied if they renew their commitment to pay the balance monthly without further interruptions or delaysI am sorry I had to lodge this complaint, but I do hope the matter is being settled now. In response to the complaint from Mr***, let me first say that he wanted a tile deck on the exterior/veranda of his home. Our tile person was not agreeing that that should be done, but agreed to do it stating in an email that he would not warranty the install because of our extreme hot and
cold temperatures that we have in our area. At a later date, Mr*** called and indicated that he had a problem with the tile deck failing. We contacted the tile person who had moved to a different state and let his license expire. He really was not in a position or did he want to be involved in a re-do, because of the reason stated earlier. Mr*** then hired someone else to correct the problem and that cost was $ 7015.00. He contacted us and asked us to repay the amount he had to pay out to replace the deck. We agreed in order to settle the situation, but never did feel that was something that we should of had to do. He has received payments off and on since we agreed to pay. The tile person came back here about a month ago, and started up a new business, and asked if he could work the amount that we had paid off to Mr*** on one of our jobs, but so far we haven't been able to have that happen, so we sent another $payment on the 17th of May that Mr*** has received. We will work on our end to repay the balance and work with the tile person to collect what we have paid. We are sorry that that happened, but warned Mr*** that it could fail and he chose to install the tile anyhow. That being said, we will continue to make the payments to clear our company from any wrong doing
