Chem Dry of Chapel Hill-Durham

Issue with overcharging for service without informing me of final costDefinitely one of the worst customer service experiences I have EVER had from any company - bar none! I called and ordered Chapel Hill ChemDry as a requirement of a lease for my landlord before I moved out. However, I couldn't be there for the actual cleaning, so when I was on the phone with the manager I mentioned it to him and he said it was fine - so long as my roommate was there to let in the technician. I gave him my credit card number, the date, and the address and it seemed like we were good to go.I knew something was amiss when I checked my bank account the next business day to find that the charge was 50% higher than what I was quoted. I was never informed about the charge or sent an invoice, and neither was my roommate who was on the property throughout the entire service - I had to be the one to find out the charge, a full business day after the service was done (no call or follow up email or even discussion of the cost by the technician to my roommate). Furthermore, the technician performed unnecessary work to buff out stains that were there far before my lease began (even though I instructed the manager not to do so over the phone).When I complained about the service to the manager, he sent back a very crass and angry email. He claimed he and the technician had called me several times (which they didn't - the technician called me only once), that the technician had mentioned the stain removal and cost over that call (which he didn't) and that I promised to be there for the service in the first place (which, again, I did not). I don't think it's fair to the consumer (in this case, me) to charge me for an amount that I never officially signed off on. I was only given a quote - it's absurd that nobody from the property gave final authority for the charges and it showed up in my bank account the next day anyway. This business cannot continue to treat its customers like blank checks and charge them freely without final confirmation - it is unlawful and unjust. Desired SettlementDespite the poor customer service, I just want the difference between my quote and my bill refunded ($110).
