Chemeketa Community College has received the attached notification of complaint from Thomas [redacted] As an institution of higher education, the college must comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and is limited in the information we are able to provide to external parties with regards to student information There are two options for us to be able to release student specific information to Revdex.com in order to resolve this complaint: 1} The student may elect to complete the Student Records Release in the college's online student system (http://my,chemeketa.edu), This is available in the Grades and Transcripts menu on the right hand side ofthe first screenA student may add authorized persons to this system and provide a code word that can then be used in inquiries 2} The student can complete a Disclosure Authorization Form (OAF) provided by Revdex.comThis form would need to grant a release of all student registration, payment, and other transactions to the Revdex.com in order for us to disclose FERPA protected informationThe completed form should be sent directly to me at the contact information below and the college Registrar would need to review and approve the form and Its use In the meantime,I can address the college's general refunding policy and procedure with you and this may perhaps resolve the issueEach term students begin registration transactions (adding and dropping courses) before the term begins and throughout the first two weeks of term (for full term courses)As students perform multiple add and drop transactions the college begins the refunding process at the beginning of the third week of term to ensure we do not have multiple payments and refunds to students Page When the college cancels a course students are refunded for all payments receivedDue to the timing ofthe course cancellation the refunding may be within days of the course cancellation or, sometimes, beginning the third week ofterrnWe attempt to honor requests for earlier refunds if we are made aware of a course cancellation when that course will not be rescheduled If your customer, and our student, would like to provide the appropriate disclosure/release authorization I would be happy to outline the specifics in this case The student, copied on this communication,is also welcome to contact me directly to discuss his concerns and ensure that he is satisfied with the resolution to date Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you have Miriam R***, Director, Business Services Lancaster DrNE Salem OR Phone: Fax: E-mail: [redacted]

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:Of the following reasons
I am not a student at CCC
I was only enrolled in one class, that they cancelled, I did not drop the class
I made several phone calls and received a few in return, stating all the things that they just described as factors for a speedy refundEach time I was given the run around on how it has taken up to months to get tuition refunded
It seems like they are just using the stall tactics described by the people I spoke with on the phoneFill out and submit a form they may or may not honorObviously you are a reputable Business and do
not engage in questionable practices, quite the opposite is trueMy complaint to you should be more than enough to show that you are acting on my behalf. they have known that the class was cancelled for a month now
This was a financial burden to me given I am on SSI, I can't imagine the stress it must be for a student receiving financial aid
Lastly they are liars, they say one thing and do another when it comes to refundsThey didn't even take the time to look at my paperwork regarding this matter or they would have sent the letter I received from them to my address for the last years, and not a friends house that I stayed at when I moved to Salem in 2010.Sincerely,*** ***
