If I could give less than one star, I would. We were referred to Cherokee by our realtor when we decided to switch from selling to leasing our home. The company is all talk and no follow through. They were super nice at first, but they turned out to be completely incompetent as soon as our agreement was signed.

When we switched over, Dee gave us the impression that our house wouldn't be off the market hardly at all because it was a critical time during PCS season. Our house was off the market for 2 and half weeks. When it finally made it back on the market, their only "advertising" was listing it on the regular MLS sites (zillow, trulia, etc.) and putting a sign in our yard. I do marketing for a living - they didn't even put it on social media! We were told that after we were out they would do a walk-through and of course check on the house periodically, especially during the winter months, and that included keeping the temperature low so that we wouldn't incur many charges while the house was empty. Our electric bill was $168, and when we sent my father in law to check on it, the house was set at 70 degrees!

She never responded to my emails with questions and information. And when I called to tell her that we were canceling our agreement, she was very defensive and acted like agents showing the house must have turned the heat on. If she had really been keeping an eye on the house, our electric bill wouldn't have been that high! When they returned our keys, they only returned one and wouldn't respond to emails about it, and so we had to get our locks changed.

If you feel like working with a company that doesn't really care about your property, then this is the one for you.

Cherokee Property Management Group is the worst property management team I have ever experienced. They have done absolutely nothing they promised on the house we rented. When we moved into this place, it looked disgusting and dirty. We had to replace light bulbs in EVERY light fixture in the house. They promised to have the place professionally cleaned, carpets shampooed, walls painted. NONE of this was done. The kitchen floor was filthy and the carpets were stained. There were still cob webs all over the ceiling fans and on the walls. Our dishwasher didn't work (and once again is broken), the dryer didn't work, the washer only used hot water. We had to switch the water lines so we could use cold water to wash our clothes. One of the kitchen cabinets was falling down off the wall - we again had to repair that. We have 2 garage doors and 2 garage door openers. Neither worked when we moved in. One still only works to OPEN the garage door, but not to CLOSE it. We have a deck in the back that is so old, the steps were broken down and un-usable. They PROMISED us they would be repaired BEFORE we moved in. Not only did they not fix them before we moved in, but WE ended up having to buy the materials and fix them ourselves. And when we submitted the receipt to be reimbursed for the materials, we were told we were supposed to have gotten permission!! They were arguing with us over whether they were going to pay us back until we pointed out that this was supposed to be done and was on our "walk through"!! There was also a giant hole in our kitchen ceiling. This was due to the house having sat abandoned for almost 1 year - and these people never bothered to winterize the place. Surprise surprise - the pipes burst!! The property manager told us that they didn't even go into check the house and the pipes until 2 DAYS before we moved in!!! We had to wait almost 2 weeks for the repair to be done on the ceiling. Not that we could use our kitchen for the first month after we moved anyway due to the fact that we had a MAJOR ant problem. We couldn't get rid of these ants for anything! When we told the PM about it, they said they would send someone out right away. The joker they sent out to take care of this problem did NOTHING. He did the same exact thing that we had already done - gone to [redacted] and purchase a big container of bug spray to get the barrier of the house. This did absolutely nothing to stop these ants. We had literally thousands coming in everyday. We finally had to call [redacted] who told us that he counted about 17 ant nests around the house!!!! The house is 20 years old and has never been worked on. The windows are practically falling out of the building. We've lost 2 window screens - they just fell right out. And when we contacted this ridiculous company, they said they would send someone out to fix it and nobody ever came. Now our latest issue is our fireplace. We have called them repeatedly for several weeks to send someone out to clean our the chimney so we can use our fireplace (this we were told is supposed to be THEIR responsibility). It took them over a week to respond to our initial request. Another week for someone to come out to the house. Then those useless people told us that "the roof is too high and he can't do anything for us". They said they would contact the PM to let them know. PM calls back and says they'll send someone named "[redacted]" out to take care of it. He's never shown and we've never heard from anybody. This is a company that is completely unreliable and useless. We don't even bother contacting them when something in the house breaks. The house is falling apart and they (nor the owner) seem to care enough to do anything about it. This has been incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience especially since we moved to a new state. We were new to the area and this was not what we had expected for our first residence in our new state. We are extremely disgusted and angry with these people!!

Funny, I just wrote the company to see if we would qualify for a rental in the Clarksville area. Mentioned a bankruptcy that was filed a year and a half ago. I like being honest up front, even though my situation, thanks to the Lord, is so much better now I thought I could look at renting a home. I get a short email that reads look "else where". It as all that as said. It was cold and rude. I think I may have dodged a bullet if they act this way BEFORE they get your business. I wouldn't recommend them and I haven't even gotten beyond the first impression.

I have dealt with them since they took over the property of a different company. I understand the difficulty of transferring companies, but ever since they have never been able to be contacted unless it come to money. They said that I was late on payment, but I had been putting payments in the deposit box since and should have had the balance down. Was told that there was no notice of me calling and discussing payment. I called several times about my dishwasher no longer working. Never got any call baack or anything. If I don't stop the maintenance man when I see him, nothing will get fixed. I've had to replace light bulbs every couple of days for the living room and no one came to see. My grill was thrown away without any notification and no one had anything to say. We were given permission by the tenant to leave our grill by the steps when we weren't using it, so we wouldn't drop ashes or anything all in the walkway. Was taken to court for eviction for non-payment (surprise?!!!) and no one showed. was told of another court date, but the judgement was already passed against me. Can't wait for the next court date. So I can bring proof of everything and get this "eviction" of my record.

I will have been living in one of their properties now for 4 months and since I've moved here I've called about the bugs and the toilet handles being broke. They keep getting my information and saying that I will get a call back on a date someone will come out to fix this but I have yet to get a call.
