I am rejecting this response because::1. DrLewis claims that I was "unable to cooperate and obey instructions" while under sedationHe was not able to use the specialized machine and procedure
because I could not follow instructionsHe yelled continuously and grew very angry because I could not stop movingI am not aware of any problems that I have had under sedation, other than the problem related by DrLewisThe purpose of sedation is not to remember and to be able to respondThis was so troublesome in two ways: 1. He relayed this information to his staff as a funny story and His primary concern should have been my health and safety during a procedure using sedationI don't feel that he was concerned, just critical of my inability to follow his instructionsI could have had a medical problem causing the movement or inability to remain still and follow instructionsThis is frightening!2. My eyesight on my left eye also had to be corrected with glasses after the very expensive cataract surgeryMy right eye (the one with the surgery) remains clouded and painfulBecause of the yelling incident, I will see another eye surgeon to correct my problemI felt traumatized by the experience with DrLewisI agree that we had an excellent relationship before the surgeryFollowing the surgery, I am very nervous with the thought of returning to see DrLewis. I have selected a reputable surgeon who is known for his professionalism and skill to fix my eye problemI have an appointment on March 4, I can tell more once I see this doctorI was given the prices for the use of the specialized procedure before surgeryMy husband and I are well able to pay the charges, therefore, I agreed to allow the Drto use the highly specialized and costly machine to measure my eyes for this surgery, in order to receive the best possible eyesight after having a cataractThat didn't happen, my vision is blurred at close range, computer range and distanceThe distance is perhaps the most concerning when I drive4. DrLewis claims a "glitch" in the billing systemHis staff was aware that they were double-billing in several instances beforeI had reached my out of pocket max and they continued to bill me for the visitsThey claimed they could not see the insurance company's payment. I pointed that out to them twice, once on the phone and once in personIn the statement of his fee relating to the surgery, the High-Tech IOL Evaluation was related to the use of the ORADrLewis was not able to use the ORA because of my movement of discomfort during the procedureSince he was unable to use the ORA for which he performed the IOL Evaluation, then he is asking me to pay for something that I did not getI did not get the benefit of the ORA fitting of my new lensThe comprehensive IOL evaluation was not a factor in the actual surgery because he could not use the ORAAs far as the $paid by the insurance company, that amount must be deducted from the charge on the bill--reconciled in writing, on the billing statementAs far as the staff ridicule, it did happen and DrLewis was not present when it occurredI am sure that he hopes that his staff act professionally, however, in this case they did not. That should never happen in a place of businessThat, however, is a HIPPA matter and is protected by lawI do have a right to privacyI am concerned that a practice that deals with many aging persons are treated with respect and not overcharged due to faulty billing systems, faulty ORA systems, and staff who do not listen when a problem is presented to themI spoke to them in person because I did not want the bill to be overdueNow, I want this resolved and I decided not to try to speak to people who don't listen
