Review: I purchased a 2000 [redacted] Blazer. The dealer owner and salesman said the vehicle was in good running condition with low mileage. The dealer presented me with insurance to cover any repairs. The salesman said the insurance starts immediately. I drove the vehicle home, 18 miles, and the engine had a hard knocking sound from the engine. I contacted the dealer and he promised to repair the vehicle. I was told to contact the dealer's mechanic. The mechanic agreed to give us an estimate but would not do the work. The mechanic said the dealer owed him too much money already. After many phone calls between the dealer and the mechanic that was not getting any results, I decided to go to an independent mechanic. The independent mechanic gave me an estimate to replace the engine due to it had been overheated and spun bearing in the past. The estimate was over $3.600. I tried to present the estimate to the insurance company but they denied coverage stating that the failure happened prior to coverage AND the problem is not covered under the policy. When the dealer received my letter of this information he would not pay. I could not find an attorney that would take the case. One attorney recommended I try another mechanic. I have found another mechanic who will attempt to repair the engine from the bottom by replacing the oil pump to see IF this will resolve the issue. The insurance company accepted the claim and should pay the mechanic directly. The mechanic has not started the work yet but has promised in 2 weeks.Desired Settlement: I want the dealer to pay for the repair of the vehicle as promised. Once the insurance gives their opinion and I see what they will pay. If the insurance does not pay for the bill in full, I will submit to the dealer for the balance. If the insurance denies payment I want the dealer to pay for the repairs.
