Cherry Tree Cleaners

Review: I recently submitted this complaint, however; it was denied due to lack of information (#[redacted]) so I would like to begin again. I recently brought one pair of dress slacks to Cherry Tree Cleaners to have them altered. They were brand new slacks and the price tag was still on them (54.95). The owner of the store was present and I showed her where I wanted the slacks altered to and she confirmed that I said one inch. When I went to pick up the slacks I paid the $9.00 charge and took the slacks home (they were in plastic). When I got them home I went to hang them and saw that they had been altered to Bermuda shorts. I immediately went back to the store but the owner was not present. Her son was there and I explained the error to him and he called his mother on the telephone. She spoke with me and stated that I asked for the slacks to be shortened. I reminded her that she and I pinned the slacks one inch together. I requested she return my money for the slacks and for the $9.00 service that I paid. She stated that since it was just after Christmas that she did not have any money and could not return my money. She offered no other solutions. I explained to her that I had very little money also and that I did not have $63.00 to just throw away and she still stated there was nothing she could do. I returned the phone to her very embarrassed son and left the store. I work very hard for my money and very seldom buy myself new clothes so you can imagine my disappointment in knowing that I had no new slacks and did not have the money to replace them. The owner asked me if I had the receipt for the slacks and I told her that I did not because I tried them on in the store and felt no need to keep it, however I did leave the price tag on the slacks. The owner just kept repeating that she could not give me any money.I reminded the owner that I have been a loyal customer for may years and that I had alterations done there many times and never had a problem therefore, I had no reason to keep the receipt.Desired Settlement: I would like the $54.95 for the slacks that were ruined and totally unusable and also my $9.00 refund for the cost of the alterations.
