I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  Brian Byrd, from Cincinnati Chimney & Masonry, Inc. called me this morning and offered to send a crew out today and finish the work they had contracted to do. They have been here, done the work and I was able to inspect it before they left. Brian said it was a miscommunication between him and his crew. I didn't have any trouble believing that but was annoyed at the length of time it took to get the job completed (eight months). The chimney is in good shape now and the exposed brick has been tuck pointed with mortar as agreed upon. My complaint is fully resolved as far as I am concerned.

Yes I have live he ran over a year and a half and I woke up Sunday morning and noticed there was a bubble in my ceiling and I crack I live on the second floor I have both of them Sunday which the day I noticed that it was there personally in the office he came around and maintenance guy didn't say he cannot fix it because his tools was stolen so then I said I need someone here ASAP Monday morning at 9 to get this fixed the rain is going to come in I had to move my furniture because I'm afraid that is going to have a flood in my living room I have taken pictures I just came from the office and they told me that oh we have to wait till we get a roofing person to come out and fix it so they should have called me and threw my shyt underneath the rug they don't know if a roof is coming out today or if you'll be out tomorrow it's the week of the holiday which is Thanksgiving coming up now I am killed off about this because they don't want to live in a place for their fan 1360 a month for rent and you cannot get a crack or a bubble that's holding water in your living room over your furniture that's bout to flood out as soon as it rain so I'm on a waiting Pace time to see if they going to get somebody out to fix this they have nasty attitudes at that main office all of them all the way down to the manager and assistant manager and I'm getting very Fed Up tired of it they nickel and dime people here and they duct tape and fix everything they don't fix nothing right this is not a good place to live in once again I am a resident here and I'll be happy to let anybody know how the maintenance and how their office move on fix it in emergency stop this is an emergency issue that needs to be looked at ASAP right away they need to get a roofing out here and they also tell me if I was to get a roofing out here I will be stuck with paying the bill they not going to pay it I'm looking at to sue them real soon cuz I'm about to call a roofing if I don't see or hear anything today I will be calling Roofing repairman today Chesapeake Commons Apartments they are a crook and a nickel and dime people

Review: Hi,We paid for an upgraded apartment. Which was more money out of our pocket. When we go there it was a basic unit. With a mantel above the fire place and a microwave. And they called that a upgraded unit. And they have no list to show us what comes with a upgraded unit either. They said that if there is ever an issue it would be fixed within 3 hours. It took them 3 days to fix a couple small issues we had when we moved in. We have been there for about 2 1/2 weeks and we have a broken dishwasher. All of our door knobs, light accessories are corded and painted on. Which they won't replace. And when I brought it up to the apartment manager she said that since it wasn't brought up during the walk through that we would have to pay for it when we move. And there's paint in the carpet which we will also have to pay for. When we first moved in I found woman's finger nails in our carpet, which meant it wasn't cleaned.Desired Settlement: Hi,I would like to have a brand new dishwasher for one. And I would like to have all my door knobs and light fixers and 1970's gold accessories replaced with nickel like they have done with other units within the complex.

Review: My complaint regarding customer service pertaining to the staff at Chesapeake Commons is based on staff negligence and unwillingness to move forward with scheduled maintenance. On 7/05/2014 I filed a maintenance request regarding water damage sustained to my apartment. Between 7/05/2014 and 7/29/2014 no attempted repairs were made. Between 7/05/2014 and 7/29/2014 I had made several phone calls, scheduled maintenance appointments with 4 different people, and was verbally assaulted and lied to by the on site manager [redacted]. During a phone conversation with [redacted] she told me that it was my fault no repairs had been attempted because I had not given permission to enter my home when I'm not there, even though all maintenance records on file show permission to enter whenever maintenance was request while I was absent. She asked if they had permission to enter while I was away and I said "Yes under the condition that the maintenance workers enter the apartment to begin checking for mold and begin repairs. Is that what you want permission to enter my apartment for?" her response was an acknowledgement of permission to enter and without answering my question in regards to their intentions she hung up on me. This complaint concerns health issues because my girlfriend who lives with me is pregnant, and mold forming due to water damage is common. It took 19 days for them to begin work on the water damage in my apartment, 19 days without knowing if we are even safe to be in the apartment, whats worse is now that they have started repairs she has the choice of staying here and breathing in paint fumes or paying for a hotel. I contacted their customer service desk and regional supervisor desk and they did nothing after a 48 hour period to solve the complaints I filed nor did they attempt to respond to any of my complaints filed.Desired Settlement: My desired settlement is to be released from my lease without incurring any lease breaking penalties including a fee.

Review: Chesapeake Commons sent my disputed balance to a collections after never responding to questions about my bill violating my rights as a tenant.

On June 14, 2013 I received a letter from R2 a collection agency for a supposed debt from Chesapeake Commons. I moved out of Chesapeake Commons in July of 2010. In September of 2010, I received notice that Chesapeake Commons was billing me for repairs made the apartment after I left and also keeping my security deposit. In response I sent them an email disputing the charges for the following reasons.

The itemized statement that was sent to me was invalid for the following reasons:

(1) the itemized statement did not include receipts for the charges incurred to repair or clean the rental unit and did not include the hourly rate at which employee's did work to clean or repair; and

(2) a final inspection was never completed prior to the tentative move-out date, despite multiple requests, which did not give me an opportunity or notice to repair or schedule the necessary cleanings.

Chesapeake Commons never responded to my requests for the necessary documents and would not return any of my phone calls. They kept my security deposit unlawfully and have not contacted me at all regarding the balance due.

It is only until now that they have decided to contact me through a collections agency. I should have taken them to small claims court for the deposit but I decided $850 was not worth the time and energy. Now that I have received this letter from the collection agency requesting $1026.84 I've realized that I should have taken them to court when I had the chance to get my deposit back. Now they are requesting more money and acting in bad faith because they waited three years without responding to my requests so I can't get my deposit back.Desired Settlement: I would like my deposit back $850 because I was never afforded an opportunity to have a final inspection to make the necessary repairs and cleaning costs for which I'm being charged. I would also like to have my "bill" of $1,026.84 erased and removed from collections. I would also like to ensure that my credit is not affected because I need to secure a line of credit for my business.
