windshield and suggested she called our office and speak with me. The police also responded to this call. When I spoke with Mr. [redacted], he assured me that the trailer was clean and there couldn't have been any rocks coming off the trailer that in turn broke the windshield. If a rock did damage the windshield, it may have been thrown up frim the tires. No driver of any vehicle (car, truck, semi, motorcycle) can control this, nor can be held liable for any damage caused. It's a matter of any driver keeping a safe traveling distance between them and the vehicle in front of them. As everyone knows, there are all types of debris that accumulates on the roadways that can be thrown up onto a passing or following vehicle. Those cases are considered "road hazards" and any damage caused by a hazard coming up from the road would be the responsibility of the owner of the damaged vehicle.
