Chester's Loans & Jewelry Reviews (4)

We’ve been in business for years with no negative feedbacks. This customer first used our services 12-19-with no apparent problemShe borrowed money again, this time on the ring on 8-21-15, came back 9-to get a higher amount on the loanOn 9-she took out another loan on a different item. She came in with a male friend to redeem the ring between 9-& 9-with a debit cardWe explained that since we loan out cash only we need cash for redeemingThey left without the ring.Between 9-& 9-a different gentleman came in along with her unsigned contract copy to redeem the ringWe explained we could only release it to the pawn customer whose name was on the loanAt that point we thought she might have some problems and began logging all contacts and dates concerning the ring. She came in with the same gentleman on 9-to redeem the ring, an argument ensued between them and she asked if we would purchase the ringWe declined and they left without the item.By this time we could easily recognize her.On 9-she came in with cash to redeem the ringEven though we recognized her we ask to see ID and collected her and collected her signed contractShe asked again if we would purchase the ring, we again declinedShe left with both the ring and the item pawned on 9-10.Shortly after she left we receive a phone call from her saying her purse with the contract and her ID was stolenWe told her she was just in and picked everything up.We felt like this was a scamWe took extra diligence to be sure all required procedures were followedAlso please note that this took place a year ago

I am rejecting this response because: Yes they should have been familiar with me by then, but people mistake people all the time, and given the value of my ring extra protection procedures should have been takenI had given a thumb print when dropping off ring and should have left one when picked upHad they done that I'd know the theif who stole my purse and who the owners let my ring and earings go toA police report was filed which I will be getting this weekShowing that my purse was reported stolen before they let go of my jewlery, this was not a scam I have three toddlers at home and am well aware of the penalties for filing a police reportAnd would not risk jail time over thisReguardless the facts are that my purse was stolen and my ID and pick up recipt were in my walletThe business needs to be held responsible for this mistake and in the future use better release of property procedures
